Secures the guns pretty well. I hope I'll be able to get new straps when the originals break. I recall reading a review that said the holder held guns steady. That isn't true at all. The telescoping column has play in it and the guns flop around some, but not enough to be a problem. The bolt through the column is longer than necessary and doesn't clear my gun by much. So far it hasn't scratched or dinged my gun but the bolt needs to be cut shorter. When I have settled on a mounting position I may braze the whole thing together to stiffen it.

GREAT RACK EXCEPT STRAPS BREAK WHEN PULLED TIGHT...JUST SNUG THEM AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. REPLACE WITH LONG VELCRO IF POSSIBLE.

Well made and secure, my only gripe would be that even at its lowest position, it is high enough that a 30" autoloader won't quite fit under the roof of my Polaris Ranger. 28" is fine, and 30" over/unders will fit.

The product was exactly as advertised. I mounted it in a Polaris Ranger. Because I did not purchased the base mount (sold separately) that is recommended for mounting this product in a Polaris Ranger, I needed to create some additional mounting brackets to make the gun mount completely secure. I really like the way my rifles fit in the mount: but have not field tested the product in actual off road hunting conditions.
