I purchased this unit because my quad was too long to fit into the bed of my truck with the tailgate closed. I have used it several times, and I am very pleased with it; money well spent.
The unit itself is very heavy duty. It is crafted of high grade steel. The hardware is also very high grade. The cotter pins look to be grade 8 titanium coated. I love how you can keep the unit in the truck's receiver, and remove just one cotter pin to take off half of the assembly. Thus allowing you to unload the quad (or tractor) while the heaviest portion of the assembly is still in the receiver. I have probably driven about 1000 miles with this on my truck with a quad, and have had no worries whatsoever that it would come loose. I do not use a single strap anymore. It actually leaves me enough room in the front of the quad to put my gas can and a small cooler. Excellent product, one of the handiest tools I have purchased.
