Favorite Knives: The deep pink chef's knife and the green paring knife (I bought the light pink Komachi Santoku Knife separately and that is my # 1 favorite Komachi knife). These specific knives would get five stars!
I also use the bagel knife and the tomato knife sometimes but I'm not in love with them. The Tomato knife is pretty good on tomatoes because of the serration, but it's nothing special and it's rather short if you are trying to cut an heirloom tomato. The Bagel knife is great, but it's short too. it's perfect for bagels, buns and rolls, but I would have preferred the longer Komachi bread knife.
Wasted Knives: I don't use the blue vegetable knife because the handle is a bit awkward for me and I have to be careful not to rap my knuckles on the cutting board when using this one. I don't use the long purple slicing knife either because I find that it's just too long for most of my jobs. I do cook some meat...but my biggest kitchen job is chopping vegetables.
When camping we'd find ourselves bringing low quality knives that a) Wouldn't cut well, and b) we'd have to carefully wrap or stuff in the middle of a roll of paper towels so no one would cut themselves while unpacking.
These knives are great. The are inexpensive, but sharp (yes, you have to be careful handling them). The bonuses are:
a) The sheaths - which make them safe to pack in a box with other camping gear, and safe to use them to cook with in the craziness of a campsite.
b) The bright colors - which make them easy to find, and easy to tell apart if you are with a group of friends, each bringing some cooking gear.
They pack compactly. I you find yourself fishing, you can probably use these to fillet the fish, and if you bbq meat or vegetables this will make cutting them a breeze.
You do have to be careful when handling them when not in the sheath, as they are very very sharp.

They are good sharp knives, but they don't stay sharp for long. We still use them for everything, but they definitely wear a bit if you do. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Cassandra Coit

We ended up only using the yellow knife. The others seem kinda worthless as far as cutting.Published 11 months ago by Tressa
Fun, durable, dishwasher safe. Easy to travel with since they come with individual covers. My mom bought me these for a gift, and then I bought these for my best friend.Published 15 months ago by Earlyrose
