Product Description

Flavor: Traditional

Kombucha Wonder Drink is a Sparkling Himalayan Tonic with inspired natural flavors infused with tea, creating an entirely new beverage category. This unique, refreshing, somewhat mysterious - even magical beverage has its own compelling mythology. For centuries, the wise ones descended each year from their aeries high in the Himalayas to harvest spring tea that grew in the valley below. The tea went back up, high in the mountains where it was blended according to an ancient formula, creating "kombucha" - a delicious, effervescent wonder drink that has for thousands of years conferred its wonderful benefits on all who drink it: good health, great longevity, inner serenity and incisive mental clarity. It's also a great beverage option for restaurants, industrial kitchens, chefs, and other foodservice professionals that order in bulk.

If you want kombucha, get real kombucha, = some kind that isn't pasteurized.
Marco Polo
Sharp Kombucha bite with characteristic light bubbles yet a smooth, mild sweet cherry aftertaste.
matthew andersen
The taste is great, I really don't think it is too sweet, and the ginger pear is a great combo.

So I'm a pretty big fan of GT Dave's Trilogy and Synergy lines of bottled kombucha, and, as anybody familiar with true, natural kombucha knows, it has to be kept refrigerated, or else so-called bad things could happen (like continued fermentation). This brand does not need refrigeration, as it has gone through some sort of processing (pasteurization perhaps, yeast removal, I don't know really) to negate the need for storage and shipping complications. Of course, the downside is that health benefits attributed to natural kombucha are somewhat lost here, since processing kinda tends to that, but it still contains bacteria cultures (at least according to the label), it's still "organic" and most importantly, it still retains that vinegary kick that sort of defines the kombucha taste. Make no mistake, this product is far sweeter than GT Dave's, 60 calories for an 8.4 ounce can (vs. 60 calories for a 16 oz bottle of GT's ), but it's still got some kombucha-y flavor. It's perhaps not as "yeasty", and is certainly missing any hint of alcohol from the original fermentation - I'd need a bottle of GT's to compare to be sure - but it goes down nice and easy anyway. It would be a good way to get into drinking kombucha for someone that isn't used to it yet.

So, it's not a replacement for GT's or any other naturally fermented and bottled kombucha product (several come to mind that have pulled from shelves), but it *is* tasty, organic, shelf stable, and convenient, and I like it for that reason.

As for the flavor, I've tried two (of many) from this brand now, the "traditional" and the "green tea and lemon". So far my preference leans to the "green tea and lemon" just because I like the tartness of the lemon.

Nowhere on the Amazon page does it say that this stuff is pasteurized.

The whole point of kombucha is its probiotic properties. Pasteurizing eliminates those properties.

Therefore, this stuff is BOGUS. If you want kombucha, get real kombucha, = some kind that isn't pasteurized.

Shame on them for even calling it kombucha.

I *love* GT's Synergy kombucha, that I get sometimes at Whole Foods. It's a little pricey, but I love the fizz, taste and nutrition. It has no added sugar and tons of B vitamins and probiotics. It's delicious, refreshing and good for you. It would be so wonderful to think you could get something comparable in bulk online, but it's just not possible. While this kombucha might be tasty, that's likely because it's loaded with cane sugar. It doesn't have the live cultures you can find in refrigerated kombucha, which is why it's called a "kombucha drink" and not just kombucha.

This Kombucha is sweeter than ones I've had before. It tastes great and I really love the ginger flavor. The can is smaller than a soda can which I like because it's about how much I would want to drink in one sitting. The individual cans are also very convenient. However, 60 calories for a can that is smaller than a soda can seems like a lot to me. I've had kombucha that was 60 calories for 2-3 times the amount. I will do some more research before ordering this again.

Will this drink give you good health, great longevity, inner serenity and incisive mental clarity? No, no, no and no. Does it contain live organisms? It is pasteurized, so again no. Is is manufactured and canned by special mystical people high in the Himalayas? No. Isn't cane juice just sugar? Yes.

If you are looking for a funky tasting beverage where the taste horrifies yet refreshes and leaves you wanting more then give this a try. The citrus/vinegar combo is weird at first but now I'm hooked. As I am on a diet I like that the cans are small so I can get my taste fix yet not go crazy on the calories.

i ordered through the subscribe and save promotion. the drink tastes good - i enjoyed drinking it. However, each can has 60 calories coming from the pure cane sugar they add to it. I ended up drinking several a day -- not sure how healthy that is.

This is by far the best tasting kombucha drink I have ever had, but that is probably because there is not as much kombucha in this beverage as the other leading brands. I looked at the ingredients, and was a little disappointed but I am still going to order more since it is cheaper to buy this brand in bulk then any other.

It still makes me feel alert, wonderful, revitalized. :)

This is way too sweet and artificially fizzy. Somehow the pasturization process took out the goodness of the real Kombuchas. I've found that GT's Synergy is one of the best. It also contains raw Chia, an outstanding energy food. Watch out for others, like this Wonder Drink, that try to use the same words and imitate the quality companies that produce Kombucha the way it is meant to be drank. Find one of the GT's Kombucha products and compare for yourself.
