By A Customer
This review is from: Kommos III. The Late Bronze Age Pottery (Hardcover)
This volume represents the report on the pottery found in the Late Bronze (Late Helladic) levels of the excavation of the site of Kommos, in southern Crete. In this volume, Dr. Watrous present a lucid and well-written discussion of the various types of pottery, both the local Minoan and the various types of imported wares. The particular importance of this report lies in the picture it enables one to paint of the far-reaching cultural and trade contacts between the different cultures in the Late Bronze Age Mediterranean, such as the Myceneaen, Minoan, Egyptian, Canaanite, Anatolian and other cultures. Without a doubt, this report will serve as one of the basic books in the field of Late Bronze Age Mediterranean archaeology in the years to come.
