Like another reviewer said. Better put a washer in the bottom of these puppies. They do not designed them that way. Although they should. If you don't, the result is that the metal teeth of the regular metal tip on the pole will eat into these rubber guys. And eventually where the hall right through the bottom of them. Make sure you put a nut or washer in there to prevent this.

I've used these for years, and they do wear out after a while, I think one could extend their life by putting just the right sized metal washer down in it to protect the rubber from the hard metal tip of the trekking pole. I confirmed this when I also bought a pair of Leki trekking poles and noticed that their rubber tips were more substantial and did have little metal washers down in them.

We put these tips on our poles and took off walking on the Coast to Coast Trail in the UK. They were wonderful. Then my wife and I took trains to Winchester and headed off on the South Downs Way. The poles were a godsend and the tips showed little wear. Then we flew to Porto, Portugal and started ten days of walking on the Portuguese Camino to Santiago, Spain. Best part of this: when we walked through a town, I could continue to use my poles because they didn't click on the cobblestones. They are stored in the basement now, awaiting the next trip. Don't know how long they'll last, but they aren't finished yet, after about 450 recent miles.

I purchased Komperdell trekking poles from REI and tested them at a park. I realized I needed proaction for the tips when I walked on pavement so ordered these tips. There were no instructions on how to attach them. So I pushed the metal tips on the poles into these walking tips and they split. Komperdell should provide installation instructions with the product or on the internet.

Just got back from our hiking trip - they worked perfectly. I was afraid they wouldn't - they were so tight and hard to get on (we had to hammer them on), but they were great. (They were required on the Inca Trail.)

Seems to work; time will tell. Because the grip on the pole and the orientation of the tip to the ground is always the same, it appears necessary to rotate the walk tips every few days or one side gets worn down like heels of shoes. Been fine for the first 60 miles or so on mixed pavement/gravel, but don't know how they will last for the long haul.

Surprisingly low quality. My old Trek tips lasted for almost a decade till the rubber wore through. These split within half a mile. And i used them on Komperdell Walking Poles. I'm going to replace them with Komperdell Trekking Pole All Terrain tips.

I'm sure that this is a good item, but it was the wrong size for my older Komperdell Titanal poles which need 12mm tips. It would be helpful if the size of the tip (8.8mm) was mentioned in the item description.
