Classic Fun,

The other reviewer brought up the point that $20 is a little expensive for a "classics pack". Most of the time, I would say that is a valid argument when deciding to purchase a game, but in this case, I beg to differ. Consider this:A)Contra is awesome. B)Frogger, while not an amazing title, is still pretty fun. C)This package includes Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. For me SotN is the big draw here. This classic game was the epitomy of sidescrolling action, and had incredible graphics and controls. Now, Symphony of the Night was released on the original PS more than ten years ago, but it's fun and value have not diminished in the slightest. In fact, the value of SotN has skyrocketed (one word?), with the original game selling for about $130. Besides getting the game itself, the graphics have been upgraded to 720p HD (you can choose to play with the classic graphics or the upgraded ones)! An incredible deal when you consider the price of the orignal game. And you get two other classic games!

Yes, there are only three games on the disc and it does retail for $20, which is the same amount you would pay to download them on Xbox Live Arcade, so I don't care about the price (not to mention you could buy it used and it would actually be cheaper than downloading them). All the games are playable off the disc, you do not have to download them so for those of you trying to conserve hard drive space, this is ideal. It's also not like the PopCap compilations as you can play these games right off the disc instead of having to redirect to the arcade to play, small time saver, but I like it. Symphony of the Night was the big draw for me because I wanted to replace my PS copy but the other two games are also enjoyable. And yes, they do have achievements, 200 points each. If you are only interested in one or two of the games, you may as well just download them off the marketplace, but if you don't have any of them and want them all, pick up the disc and spare your hard drive a few extra megabytes of space.

I purchased this for Castlevania, symphony of the night. Contra was a nice addition and I haven't played frogger, so I can't comment on that.Castlevania is excellent. It's the same as the original game and worth picking up for the Castlevania fan. Contra was a fun game, but one play through should be enough.

This game combination is awesome! You have castlevania, frogger, and that other game title. (Don't remmeber it.) Some poeple are complaining that it isn't the ORIGINAL Frogger, but I assure you it is. This is a deal! three games for 10$! Buy it! is it worth it!

Well, let's start off by saying, this trio of games suffers from a slight generation gap for some. We're talking Atari 2600 era vs. NES era. Frogger really does not belong on this compilation of, you know, only THREE games. Even so, i was thrilled to AT LAST, really FINALLY have the ORIGINAL arcade version of frogger on a gaming system. That is until I started playing the game. While the other games on this disc have 'original' version and 'enhanced graphics' version selections, Frogger has no options. What you see is what you get. And what you see AND hear is NOT the original frogger. The graphics have been altered and updated. On top of that, they do NOT use the original frogger music!!!So essentially, this is an adaptation of the original game for consoles. So sad that they couldn't have included THIS version as the enhanced version while also including the genuine original arcade version from like 1981.

3 classic games for $20? The producers have to be kidding here. There have been other retro classic game compilations that include at least a dozen titles on the disc that sell for a $20 price tag. But 3 games for $20? This should be no more than $9.99 and even that is too much to pay for 3 games.Great classics but too few of them and a price where value is obviously not observed.

Buy this if you don't feel like downloading it on Live. It's nice to have an actual disc copy. Also, Super C is a great game that does have the correct control layout, unlike the Live version of the original Contra. 5 stars! ps. Frogger is a bonus, no one really cares anymore about that. first off... if you complain about this, you simply don't understand ANYTHING ABOUT GAMING OR ABOUT THE INDUSTRY... you are seriously uneducated if you don't understand what you are buying... this is... and listen up because obviously you don't know THE FIRST THING ABOUT VIDEO GAMES......... this is an XBOX LIVE ARCADE compilation... NOT a konami classics compilation..... If you complain because you don't do the slightest bit of research, then YOU ARE THE ONE TO BLAME.... TO ALL THESE PEOPLE.... JUST STOP PLAYING VIDEO GAMES..... you will never understand. YOU need to stop forever because there is NO getting thru to you.... and yes, I mean YOU..... You could never understand the gaming industry....

The title says it all. I got suckered when I bought this and Vol. 2, thinking "Oh, the back shows three games, but there's probably too many games on here to list." Soo wrong. Sure, there's three great games on the disc, but that's about it. Sad part for me was, I already downloaded the two Contras from Xbox Live, so in getting Konami Classics Vol. 1 and 2, I got four new games, not six. Way to gyp your fanbase, Konami!
