5.0 out of 5 stars Monkey
This was the first toy I bought for out little beagle puppy when he was 9 weeks old. He still has this toy and loves it and he is 8 months old. The monkey no longer has arms, legs or a tail but the head and braid are still intact and Buzz still plays with it! I love this toy!

3.0 out of 5 stars The braid only
The braid is the only thing left of this toy. The face, arms, legs, and nub were gone in seconds. Get for dogs who don't know what stuffing is, how to chew apart toys, or have good chewing abilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable and Fun, November 23, 2009
This review is from: KONG Braidz Dog Toy (Misc.)
My dogs LOVE the Kong Braidz. They have several and I am surprised at how long they last. One poor Zebra is missing an arm and a leg but is still braided together and full on fun. They play "make Mom crazy with the squeaker" and tug-o-war, but sometimes it's just a chew toy. It's so hard to find a long lasting plush toy...Thank you KONG!

3.0 out of 5 stars I knew what I was getting myself into, March 6, 2010

I read all the reviews when I bought this product so I knew exactly what I was getting myself into, but none-the-less I was hopeful because the product does say its for larger dogs. Well my 40lbs puppy had the head off in less than 15 minutes. Shortly after that she had a couple of the arms and legs off. But I was fully prepared for that, because I was hoping that that braid part would hold for some time....but it didn't. No siree not for her the braid started to go the very next day. So word to the wise if you have a dog that has to rip all their toys apart then I'm pretty sure there only exists a couple toys out there that will hold up to the test of time (so far for me the KONG black rubber ones are the only ones). I recommend if you have such a dog to stick with cheaper toys because their lifespan is just as short, but since you'll be buying a steady stream of them the price tag is soooo much nicer.

If you have a dog which is not so harsh on their toys then this would be a prefect toy for them.

Oh and one more thing the product doesn't really squeak which was just fine by me.

1.0 out of 5 stars 00:08 second toy, January 14, 2011

My Golden puppy tore this thing apart in less than 10 seconds! Literally.

The legs and arms are essentially just tucked through the body, one tug later, we had a leg-less tiger, 2 tugs, no more arms. We now have a tiger-striped stick.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculously Frail, December 26, 2010
SAVE YOUR MONEY. My tiny 6-lb dog took this thing apart in minutes. First the ears came off, then the horns. Within moments there was stuffing all over the floor. This thing might as well be made of glass. Very disappointing - I expected better from Kong.

KONG knows how to make durable, long-lasting toys for pets. The BRAIDZ DOG TOY is up in my top five of all brands. The key is KONG strength and resilience; albeit as a hard rubber material, canvas/tire/firehose materials and strong stitching -- and now these clever braided fleece toys with cute heads, requisite squeaker(s) and dangling legs create just the right lure for dogs that love to chew and dream of the chase! Our female yellow lab grabs her Zebra Braidz as soon as she gets home. She carries it around like a child would her doll -- really endearing -- and labs LOVE to chew. The good thing is that KONG products last longer. She may chew off pieces here/there, but like her other two KONG toys we know this will last 6-8 months at least!

5.0 out of 5 stars My doggie loves his monkey!, November 20, 2009

My rescued mutt doggie loves his monkey toy! He tends to shred toys but likes a soft toy to throw and tug with. So I bought several of these and it holds up well and he loves to "carry" it. Very well designed and made!

4.0 out of 5 stars Poor little guy!, October 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My dog loves his zebra. I only rated this toy with four stars because my dog ripped the poor guys guts out in like 2 minutes. He weighs ten pounds on a good day and usually rips apart toys in a matter of days and weeks not minutes! Now you might say it's because he loved the zebra so much he loved it to pieces right away. Maybe;) He ripped the stuffing out through the eye, or rather where the eye had been. There were all these strings hanging out of the empty zebra eye socket! Eek! He still plays with the braid(tail, legs and empty head still attached). That braid section of the zebra is holding up really well. We play a lot of fetch and tug of war and it shows no signs of retiring anytime soon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for Chewers, May 29, 2011

This thing was torn apart in literally 30 seconds. There is SO much stuffing in the face, arms and legs!!! The sqeaker was a thing of the past with the first bite. I specifically got this because its Kong and figured that it would be made to withstand very active puppies....no way. The braid survived, but not without an enormous mess first.
