5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps the kitty pleased (and sleek)
When my partner first saw the Zoom Groom at a local pet supplies store, he balked at purchasing it as its rubber spikes were a little reminiscent of Mideval torture devices! 3.0 out of 5 stars Cute Idea, and it works too but the fur gets everywhere!
This brush works great, I mean, It gets ALL of the shedding fur off my kitty....BUT....the fur doesn't stick to the brush so the fur gets all over the furniture anyway (and on my clothes, in the air, etc.)I thought I'd save money buying this instead of the one getting rave reviews costing $25-$30, but I guess you get what YOU PAY FOR! I also will not be returning it...

When my partner first saw the Zoom Groom at a local pet supplies store, he balked at purchasing it as its rubber spikes were a little reminiscent of Mideval torture devices! But the rubber is extremely soft and plible (try it on your own skin - it's odd, but definitely not a painful experience), and it's remarkably effective at removing loose hair from our short-haired kitten. Most importantly, the kitten enjoys it tremendously, and will reposition herself in order to be brushed evenly on both sides! In regards to the hair-catching abilities - you've gotta get a certain amount of hair stuck to the bristles at first, and then the hair will amass quite nicely. I usually just put some of the little bits of hair that fly off the brush in the beginning, back on the brush - and that helps the brush in collecting the other hairs more efficiently. And in regards to the shape - if you've small hands (as I do) it's actually quite comfortable to use. Furthermore, the "cat shape" provides some smaller edges, which is helpful for getting that space behind the ears and by the cheks (and brushing my kitten there generally will make her tongue stick out in pleasure). A broader array of colors would've been nice for my aesthetic tastes - but kitty likes blue just fine. Thanks, Kong Co.! Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best brush ever, July 19, 2004
By A Customer

Looks kind of gimmicky, but it really works! I have tried just about every grooming tool out there, and this is the best. Not only because it removes loose hair in record quantities, but because my 2 dogs and 3 cats love it! Brushing them is no longer the battle it once was. If your dog or cat hates being groomed, this tool may save your relationship.

In response to the other review, I would remark that the Zoom Groom's inability to hold hair is actually an advantage, since this makes it incredibly easy to clean--the hairballs just drop right off, after which you can wash the brush with soap and water.

My only quibble is with the shape of the thing. Yes, the dog and cat shapes are cute, but they're not the most comfortable to hold. It's only a minor complaint, though. Overall, this is by far the most efficient and convenient grooming tool I have found.

Another plus is that the flat side makes a decent lint brush for clothes and furniture. Try it--you'll like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, June 13, 2005

I got this for my cats, one is a short haired cat and the other is a medium haired.

I never really had a problem with grooming the short haired cat. She'll try and groom herself when you hold up the brush. She loves this brush!

My medium haired cat is another story. It was always annoying when I went to pet him because my hand would be covered in fly away hair. This brush loosens all the undercoat and collects it on its bristles. It doesn't take long for the loose hair to collect on the brush and then you can easily lift it off in one piece. His coat is left smooth sleek and shiny. I love being able to pet him and not end up with a handful of fur. And even better- he loves it too. He'll stretch and turn to make sure that I get all that itchy fur off of him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful grooming tool!, May 31, 2006
This review is from: Kong Company Cat Zoom Groom Czg (Misc.)
We found this fantastic groomer a few months ago at PetsMart. We've got 2 siamese that are short-haired and shed hair horribly. We'v tried other grooming brushes, mostly those with the metal teeth, and our cats just didn't take to them at all. They wouldn't sit still long enough to remove much hair. But they love this 'brush'! They just sit there until I'm done brushing them, purring all the while, and then give me that happy, content wink. If it's been awhile between groomings, this will get clogged up with all the fur, but I simply remove the large clumps of fur and put them in a pile to throw away later. Removing all hair and cleaning the brush is easy done by running it under the faucet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your Cat Will Love You For This, February 22, 2004

This is a wonderful grooming tool. The long flexible fingers reach through even thick fur to massage the skin below. The material coaxes out more loose hair than you would have believed was there. There are no sharp edges, so you won't startle or hurt your pet.

The only downside to this product is that the brush doesn't hold on to hair very well once it's removed it from the cat, so you might prefer to use it outdoors.

4.0 out of 5 stars They love it! I like it., January 18, 2006

Both my cats loved it immediately! And it did a fine job of scattering cat hair all over the place...which did sort of defeat the purpose. I'll be careful where I use this. Keep a lint roller handy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic BRUSH!!, March 9, 2006
This review is from: Kong Company Cat Zoom Groom Czg (Misc.)
This brush makes a huge difference. A LOT of fur came out of the short hair cat coats! Doesnt work too well on long hairs. I've had 5 different brushes in the past and this one is by far the best!! Plus the cats love being brushed.

5.0 out of 5 stars William and Daisy say 'yes!', June 20, 2006
This review is from: Kong Company Cat Zoom Groom Czg (Misc.)
William and Daisy are brother and sister European short hairs from the same litter. Since they reached the age of about 1 (7 cat years) they have agreed about very little. However, they agree about the Kong Cat Zoom Groom. It is the highlight of their day -- although it is the highlight of Daisy's morning, and William's night. One cannot expect a cat brush to bring complete domestic harmony; but it does bring temporary bliss.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST!, June 17, 2007

When I finally found these at Petsmart, I cleaned them out by purchasing the last three on the shelves. I immediately tore off the packaging and tested it on all three (2 long hair, 1 short hair) of our cats. They all have different personalities, but they all LOVED it!! They actually sat still and purred and purred while they get groomed. I immediately got rid of those nasty wire brushes, which can actually hurt them. :(
I would recommend wearing clothes you don't absolutely love while grooming your kitty because fur will be everywhere, but it gets the job done. The amount of hair I got was incredible, it was surely enough to stuff a small throw pillow! But instead, I dispose of the cat fluff outside, in hopes that birds will use it for their nests. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy cat + less hairballs=happy ME!, February 11, 2007
This review is from: Kong Company Cat Zoom Groom Czg (Misc.)
My cat really likes this product. It does a great job of getting the undercoat out without irritating her skin the way a wire brush can. I cannot believe the clouds of fur that I can easily brush out of her with this, while she is purring and happy. A splash of water on the brush helps reduce the flyaways too, and also reduces that static shock that can happen in the cold weather! I've given them to several other cat owners now, and while they were initially skeptical I am now told that the zoom groomers are their fave groomers now.
