SO cute!,

The squrriel was such a cute toy for our 7 month old Lab. It lasted about 15 minutes and was in pieces. The good thing is that there was a limited amount of stuffing.

Dr. Noys' dog toys will last a long time--great investment!,
These toys are among the best plush dog toys out there, and we've tried several. I don't think any are truly "indestructible" since there's always a dog somewhere that will defy that claim, but these are well made and worth buying for the majority of dogs. Just be *sure* to buy the size that suits your dog; don't buy one too small that can be swallowed easily! Dr. Noys' toys are great in that they always include an extra squeaker in the pack, and the toy squeaker is easily replaceable in its hidden velcro pouch. (Squeakers are not indestructible; that's why they include an extra. But the advantage here is that they are very secure, and can't be eaten.) You can even buy separate packages of squeakers if your dog is tough on plush toys. Or you can remove the squeaker if it drives you crazy! ;-) In the larger sizes you can replace the squeaker with a tennis ball for active dogs.Pay attention to the sizes listed: extra-small is really small, best for only the tiniest toy breeds or for small puppies. Medium will work for most dogs, but if your dog is a shredder, loves to destroy plush toys, only get the large sizes. If you have certain breeds, like Staffordshire terriers and bull dogs, then perhaps another toy would be a wiser choice. You know your dog. So if you're tired of buying so-called "dog toys" that are really glorified baby toys and easily destroyed, try these. Ours have lasted for two years with hard play, only replacing the squeakers. Even better, they're usually included in the Amazon 4-for-3 promotion, so you can get one free if you buy four (smaller sizes)! That way you can test out different designs, or save one for later. Highly recommended!

Falls apart within a week. The extra squeakers were nice. These things are not tough.

Surprisingly durable,

I see some people have had trouble with dogs tearing apart this toy. I thought that was going to be the case for us too, but once our lab spent a couple weeks de-furring the tail (those weeks were awful, really - brown fur all over the floor, constantly hearing the dog chewing on hair and having to pull it out of his mouth, etc) this toy has actually held up. It's been around for at least a month and other than the aforementioned hairless tail it's doing great. It's long and thin, so it's really satisfying for him to shake and play tug with. I'm impressed, I really thought this toy would not last once I saw how he was destroying the tail, but it's done fine. He hasn't even managed to pull off its little ears which I thought for sure would be the first thing to go.

My dog was able to get the squeaker out and destroyed the pouch that house the squeaker in no time. He did like it while it lasted.

This is a tough toy with the wonderful feature of the Velcro pouch which allows squeaky transplants. We've even put a couple of extra squeakies inside, which our 7 month old Doberman pup loves. She is hard on squeakies but relatively easy on the toys. Our older terrier mix doesn't care for the squeakies but tries to eat the "dead" squirrel. She seems to think it is real, so she has licked it until it is disgusting, and rolls on it, as if she is getting "dead" squirrel stink on herself. She has taught the Dobie to try to tear it apart, but so far the toy is holding up very well. I thought the tail would go quickly but it hasn't lost a hair. Both dogs favor this squirrel over all their other toys. I'll be looking for more Kong animals like this or just buying more squirrels. I highly recommend this toy.

I bought this for my 11 lb. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She loves stuffed toys but goes right for anything that sticks out like an ear or nose and chews them off in no time then starts pulling the stuffing out. This only takes her a few minutes then we end up throwing them out and saying, "there goes another ten bucks down the drain". After reading reviews about this squirrel I decided to give it a shot because it sounded pretty tough. She managed to chew the ears off in nothing flat but so far hasn't destroyed it. It doesn't really have stuffing in the body, it's kind of floppy, (hard to describe), and has velcro at the belly and you can swap out the squeakers, (in fact it comes with extra squeakers). Her thing isn't getting to the squeakers like some dogs, it's "destroying her kill" and ripping it to pieces. This one is tough but not indestructible, still I'd recommend it.

We have a heavy chewer at our house right now. She is a foster dog from our local animal shelter a coon hound mix about 8 months old. She LOVES to chew - this toy lasted much longer than any others we have tried. She also loved this toy to pieces (literally) - we always got plenty of amusement watching her carry it around by the tail. I loved the inner pouch that comes out to replace the squeakers - toy also came with a pack of the squeakers VERY NICE! Will be purchasing a replacement toy for her soon! I would recommend this to anyone who has a very playful and "chewy" dog. :)

No plush toy will be indestructible,

Our corgi has had two of these squirrels and although they are not indestructible, they have outlived any other plush animals we have tried. Yes, the tail eventually falls off. Yes, the feet have been chewed off. Yes, the squeaker does stop squeaking, but our crazy dog still loves his squirrel tail-less, foot-less, and squeak-less. I would get another squirrel and another and another from Dr. Noys.
