3.0 out of 5 stars What Are You Going To Do?, June 29, 2005

This review is from: Konica Minolta NP-800 Lithium-ion Battery for the A200 Digital Camera (Electronics)
I own the Konica Minolta A200 camera and picked up four spare NP-800 batteries that I use in rotation. This battery is rated for around 260 images, though I average around 175 - even with minimal flash usage, using only the viewfinder, and the lowest power saving setting on the camera. I get less with flash and/or LCD usage. I do feel that the price on these are far beyond reasonable for their performance level and size - but that's what you get with proprietary batteries. I understand you may be able to use another manufacturer's less expensive battery in this camera, though I didn't want to risk it with a $600+ investment.

After dozens of charges, they do seem to keep their charge well and maintain the average battery life mentioned above. They are easy to put in and take out of the camera - and stay put in the charger that came with the camera. I do like the size as they fit well into my camera cases. To mark "spent" batteries, I just leave the plastic cap off the battery.

Overall, your choices are extremely limited. Best to just pucker up and buy 'em - you'll need them if you don't want to have a photography outing cut short by a dead battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Konica Minolta NP-800 Battery Purchase, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Konica Minolta NP-800 Lithium-ion Battery for the A200 Digital Camera (Electronics)
Konica Minolta has left the camera business and the NP-800 battery is rather unique to the A200 camera I own. Having a spare battery was important and it was delivered quickly with no problems. The battery is identical to the one that the camera was originally delivered with and charged normally. Very happy to obtain this item through Amazon.com.

4.0 out of 5 stars Proprietary batteries, April 8, 2009
This review is from: Konica Minolta NP-800 Lithium-ion Battery for the A200 Digital Camera (Electronics)
I don't know what other product this battery may work in, but for my Konica-Minolta A-200 (which I bought it for), it works fine. After a few years, & many recharges, I've had no problem using this battery, along with the original.
As with all things, they get dropped. This never seemed to bother the battery any.
Battery life is kind of like MPG for cars. You never get what is listed. Turning the camera off after a shot helps, but what's the point? I will say that this battery will keep going till it can't produce any electricity.
It doesn't lose it's charge too fast, while sitting in the bag, & fully charges (OEM charger), even at half full. Hope this helps.
