A 27 Page small stapled booklet which has many plates of the beautiful Coptic Textiles. Some words written in the Introduction are, "The small selection of textiles illustrated here belong to the rich collection of Ancient Textiles in the Benaki Museum, and are known as "Coptic." They were found in Egyptian graves and ruined monasteries and were made by the Christian peoples of the Nile Valley, known as Copts since the seventh century. Preservation of these textiles with their admirable polychromy is due to the hot, dry earth of Egypt and to the embalming of the dead."
