The legendary indie rock outfit was founded by Robert Harrison of Austin, Texas in the early 1990s. What started as an experimental ... Read more in Amazon's Cotton Mather Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Close to Perfect December 26, 2012

The Beatles don't exist anymore. (Of course this is sad, but at least they aren't touring like the Rolling Stones. Mick and the boys should have given up performing years ago. Obviously, they don't watch themselves! Recording? Jury is out!) Anyway, back to these cds: they are precious, and remind you of the Beatles and Dylan (actually a young Dylan, and the best, Ian Hunter). What could be better? Nothing! Fun and great listening! You will not regret the purchase: real music, good beat, almost makes you want to sing - I would if I had a good voice, or the memory for lyrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice re-release for this hidden power pop gem September 17, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I was blown away when I had a friend send me a recording of "She's Only Cool". How had I not heard of this before? I had a track from Cotton Mather on a Badfinger tribute cd, but knew nothing more about them. While I'm not used to writing album reviews, I can highly recommend this disc, along with the bonus cd. There is a definite "Beatle" quality to the music, and while the Lennony vocal quality doesn't hurt, this is not some bad trip down a fab four cover act. These songs stand on their own, and any lover of catchy but well composed pop music will not be disappointed with "Kontiki".
