5.0 out of 5 stars Kooga Shadow scrum cap
This is the second scrum cap I have used and it is by far the best one i have used. First off, the weight of it speaks volumes as it feels like there is nothing on my head. Secondly, unlike other scrum caps, this one does not "dig" the rough part of the velcro into my neck. My old one always did and taping my neck became an pregame ritual. The kooga shadow scrum cap has a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Headguard
The headguard is very light with a reasonable ventilation. I bought it to protect my head while playing soccer (I am on blood thinner). I am not sure how much of protection I get against blunt trauma with the amount of padding that the headgear provides. I guess it is not a great protection if you see my name in obituaries. look me up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rugby Scrum Cap, September 25, 2010

The cap came in the time frame described so I was happy with the delivery service. The cap itself is great. It takes a bit of working it in, but it is very comfortable once you do and does not over heat the head. Stays cool through the full 80 minutes of play time. The only thing I do not like is that the strap takes a bit of time to soften up due to the rigidity of it, but once I wore it a few times; I have had no other problems with it. I would recommend it as a solid buy.

The kooga shadow scrum cap has a soft strap that goes under your chin and the velcro tab is thinner than the strap so the velcro never touches your neck. The cap also, does not muffle any sound while scrumming. As an 8 man, I had that problem with my old scrum cap. This cap has chnnels that allow sound to enter the ear. Overall, the best scrum cap so far. he price is a bit high but well worth it. "Ruck on boys!"
