Someone below me needs to stop riding LL's jock like a school girl. These reviews are for Kool Moe Dee, not the LL fan club. But since you brought him up, I will say one thing. Kool Moe Dee is the one who stepped out of the rap game with dignity. LL these days is nothing less of a wack, sold out, bottom feeder who would probably stoop to anything to stay relevent and extend his career another few years. In comparison, Kool Moe Dee never wavered from his priniciples. And despite the hype machine surrounding Mr. Lady's Lover Cool James, I always thought KMD was better anyways. In fact, if you think "Mama Said Knock You Out" is better than "I Go To Work," you need to be slapped. The fraud-show should've been over a long time ago. Kool Moe didn't lose the battle. If they ever actually battled, LL would've gotten served hard. Add onto of that, Kool Moe is a top 5 GOAT MC, LL is not.
Back on topic, I don't own this CD, but I own all the albums the songs came off of. They are all classic material. Great, oldschool jams uncontaminated by blood-sucking A&Rs and silly, bandwagon trends. My favorite thing though has always been Kool Moe Dee's excelent delivery. I can't really think of anyone who flows thier voice with that amount of clarity, percision, and confidence. He never sacrificed this when he was spit-firing his rhymes at blinding speed or flowing more slowly. His MCing still stands out today among so many of the supposed premier MCs that came afterwards who mumbled their flows half-hazardly. Much can also be said for his funky lyrics and wit. This is hip hop that will stand the test of time. When people go back and really study the history of hip hop, he will have a sizeable entry. Hell, hes responsible for the first record credited as introducing technical rhymes, metaphors, and speedy delivery.

You know it's funky.,

Kool Moe Dee was/is one of the most intelligent rappers of any generation. The beat and lyrics for "How ya like me now?" were some of the funkiest since James Brown. Also, Kool laid it down like it was supposed to be and took the game seriously. He just knew how to flow in a rapid fashion that you could understand. In other words, he wasn't just saying a lot of nonsense. Overall, Kool's beats and lyrics were just funky and make you want to get up and do some of that straight gangsta boogie back in the day dancing.

Not about money, jewelry, sex and foul language. True, it has its place but it is all too common now. Plus, you can't understand half of what these new cats are saying. Kool Moe Dee is one of the first rappers I've ever liked. With singles such as "How You Like Me Now?", "Wild Wild West", "They Want Money" and his LL Cool J Diss rap "Let's Go."On a side note, though there was real heat between LL and Kool Moe Dee, they didn't take it to the level that these knuckleheads of today seem too! They kept it on the records and about who was the best rapper, not about who had the most guns! Anyway, if you want a good piece of hip-hop history, this is a good CD to get.
