Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Equipped with both cooling and heating capabilities, this compact refrigerator chills or warms food within a small space such as a college dorm room, an office, or a TV room. This fridge also can be powered by a car or boat cigarette lighter and weighs only 16 pounds unfilled, so you can take it with you to picnics or short outings. A built-in handle on top of the fridge makes it easy to transport.

Standing 17-1/4 inches tall and measuring 12 inches wide and 11-1/2 inches deep, the fridge has a capacity of 20 liters, which is enough space to hold up to 20 12-ounce soda cans and four 2-liter soda bottles. The interior compartment lights up when the door is open and has two adjustable grid shelves for storage. The door has one full-length shelf and one shelf that runs half the length of the door. All shelves are detachable for cleaning.

The cooling and warming functions operate via a thermoelectric heat pump instead of using freon, a known pollutant. The fridge easily converts from a cooler (to 52 degrees F) to a warming box (to 97 degrees F) by simply rotating the direction that the power adapter’s connector is placed in the socket. A 12-volt power connector for use in a cigarette lighter is included. --Cristina Vaamonde

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but not worth the money., October 9, 2003

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Koolatron Compact Fridge, White (Kitchen)
These are cute little fridges if you don't want to use them all the time. They cannot be plugged in days on end, the cord breaks or the motor goes out and the parts are expensive to replace. If you want something that gives you longevity go for a regular compact fridge which do not cost much more than the Koolatron items.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Costly for This Type of Unit, September 25, 2004
This review is from: Koolatron Compact Fridge, White (Kitchen)
Similar units are now very inexpensive, but still not worth the price. It seems they are all made the same and have no life-span. I had purchased a Koolatron unit last year, and 3 other brands this year. Each of them lasted less than 1 month, but I thought the next one would be better - not so. The manufacturer needs to do a lot of work to make these little cooler/warmer units something more than throw-away items.

1.0 out of 5 stars WASTE OF MONEY, May 5, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Koolatron Compact Fridge, White (Kitchen)
I bought the fridge in April 2003. Five months later in September the electrical cord died and I had to purchase an adapter for $25. Now in May 2004 the fridge won't cool anymore. I had it in my office so obviously it was not designed to be plugged in 24/7. Don't bother calling the company. Their customer service is lousy and the operators can barely speak English. For the money I spent I could have purchased a larger fridge that also has a small freezer. Well now I'm going to have to purchase a new one so the $100+ I spent on this set up is wasted.. The only reason I will even give it one star is for the cute look of the fridge. I'm now going to buy an ugly working one! :-)
