This cd is probably one of the best German heavy metal music cd's I've listened to. They are somewhat similar to Rammstein. They have awesome guitars no one can beat. Some songs are hard and thrashing, most are fast paced, with heavy guitars and good lyrics if you understand German, even if you dont you are missing something if you dont buy this. If you want some hard heavy ... though, I recomend Schweisser or Oomph! If any of the Oomph albums get Unrein, or Plastik. But these guys should do the trick no matter what!

If you like Rammstein you'll love Megaherz... different yet very similar. Very cool cover illustration on this album and the music is very good too. Hard industrial/rock similiar to Rammstein. I love Rammstein but after you listen to a CD for many many times it gets old and this was a natural progression for me and probably most Rammstein fans out there.

Peng Peng Kopschuss! This album is great! A little different than Rammstein, great vocals all in German, loud guitar, great music all around! The difference between Rammstein(equally good)is this is more too the aesthetics of music as compared to kind of "bang bang" on the guitars of Paul and Richard from Rammstein. Dont get me wrong! I love Rammstein! Its just different and possibly more aesthetically pleasing to the ear. Great album! All that like Rammstein get this! All that like music get this album!

Brilliant,

Just one year after the release of "Wer Bist Du," their first album, Alexx, X-tian and Wenz added a drummer, Frank G., and Noel Pix, who worked on the production of "Wer Bist Du?," became an actual member of the band, acting as a programmer and second guitarrist. They proceeded to record "Kopfschuss." The result? They seem to have found a niche with their sound, since all of the songs are of the same basic style, unlike "Wer Bist Du?" which had quite a bit of variation. The songs themselves are mainly guitar-driven, with electronic sounds added to the feel of the songs, resulting in an excellent sound. Whether it's melodic, heartfelt music like "Herz Aus Stein" and "Teufel," bombardment of sounds like "Schitzophren" and "Blender," or just songs to rock out to like "Mistuck" and "Rock Me Amadeus." The album opens up with "Liebestoter," which is the track that Noel Pix decided to remix this time around, and closes with a remix of the same song, which, while being interesting, is nowhere near as good as the remix of "Wer Bist Du?". All in all, it's a fantastic album. Standout tracks are: Herz Aus Stein Mistuck Burn/Rappunzel (burn acts as an introduction) Blender Jordan Teufel Schitzophren Rock Me Amadeus

Rammstein this is not.,

This CD is good. It has grooves that increase adrenalin. However, Rammstein it is not. The lyrics are certainly not as poetic as Rammstein. They are not literature for sure, but that is not the intent of this work I would hope. There are some nice grooves but as someone else noted, it is repetitive and generic. Still, finding metal in the German language is difficult in America and considering that fact, this CD stands apart from its English language competitors.

So Close...,

Musically, this album is miles ahead of the hip-hop-ish "Wer Bist Du?", i.e. it actually contains guitar solos that add to the experience, and we begin to hear the melodic abilities of Alexx Wesselsky's voice. More variation is also added to the percussion and bass lines, and the synth work of Noel Pix is unbeatable. High points of this CD:-Freiflug: a haunting, slower song that really exploits Alexx's voice. -Meine Suende: possibly the best Megaherz song recorded. Opens with an amazing bass/percussion theme that continues subliminally throughout the song. Angry, pained lyrics really add to the music if you speak german. -Rock Me Amadeus: wierd but fantastic. Herzwerk II and Himmelfahrt are both better than this album, but it is nearly impossible to get Herzwerk II and this CD contains elements that Himmelfahrt misses which are vital to understanding and appreciating Megaherz's music. DO NOT BUY "5" IF YOU ARE LOOKING INTO MEGAHERZ. Without Alexx and Noel they are nothing. Eisbrecher (Alexx and Noel's new band) remain much truer to the original, unique Megaherz sound, and did not create a pathetic rewrite of "Gott Sein".

Upon comparing this band with Rammstein as well as Oomph!!!, I would argue that these three bands all have their equal merits. Rammstein appeals to the soul with entertaining, poetic lyrics and nearly perfect fluency with riffs. Oomph!!! is comparable to Rammstein in that the flow is very similar and the main difference is the content of lyrics in the songs...in my opinion, Oomph is not as hardcore as Rammstein. Megaherz is unique for singing about God in many of their songs and for many songs in which S & M is directly mentioned or hinted at. Despite the repetetiveness of several songs, they all stand out as wonderful songs on their own right. My favorite songs are (in order):1.Es tut weh 2.Gott Sein 3.Herz aus Stein 4.Kopfschuss

I am big into the German metal/industrial scene. This CD is better than Rammstein and trust me on this I own all of the Rammstein CD's. Some people say to truely enjoy German music you need to know German. That is not true, you don't need to know German to enjoy this music. The guitar riffs are nuts, the drums are awesome and the vocals are sick. Lets face it, even with english speaking metal can you really understand what they are saying? no....point made. For anyone who loves Rammstein and the German metal/industrial scene I would reccomend this cd along with these other titles:Stahlhammer Melotron (industrial techno) Eisbrecher |
