Product Description

For decades we've been looking mesmerized into space, anxiously waiting for a potential alien invasion whereas the real danger is waiting right below our feet. There are quirky creatures living deep inside the earth which would rarely catch the eye in an alien movie. These inner-earthians are really into sunlight, the blue skie altogether earth's surface. That's why they sally out to conquer earth's upper world headed by the three freaked out KRANK brothers. In a giant monster of seven kilometers height - the so-called Krank tank - they drill through the earth's crust devastating Manhattan. This is just the start. Earth's invasion has only just begun. Of course mankind doesn't just stand on the sidelines. Fortunately, an invention by brilliant (yet pretty scatterbrained) inventor Dr. Samuelson is waiting to be used: the Kore Suit. By pure chance the three protagonists Pixie, Madboy and dog Rex got hold of the war robot. They enter it daringly to stop the invasion by the inner-earth creatures and, by the way, rescueing hijacked Dr. Samuelson. How does one destroy a metal giant like the Krank tank? Simply from the inside! This is where you start your journey through THE KORE GANG.

The Kore Gang is an odd little game, as it's probably one that you've never heard of. Well, for a short history lesson, The Kore Gang was originally supposed to be released on the original Xbox 10 or so years ago. The game was originally conceived by designer Klaus Lyngeled, formerly of Shiny Entertainment, known for games such as Earthworm Jim, MDK, Sacrifice, etc. Sadly, the publisher axed it and it was supposedly canceled. Fast forward many years later and it comes back as a Wii exclusive, but it was only released in other countries last year. However, finally it was announced that The Kore Gang would be making it to the North American market, but it'd end up suffering many delays, even though the game was done and ready to be released. Regardless of the cancellations and delays, The Kore Gang is a legitimately good platforming game.

You play as three different characters in The Kore Gang, all with different Kore Suit abilities. You can switch between them at any point in the game, as they're all being housed inside of the Kore suit. The Kore Gang is a nice blend of combat and platforming. Both styles of play work pretty well. The camera can sometimes get hung up, but you can manually control it by either the d-pad or z-button whenever you'd like.

The Kore Gang has some pretty impressive art direction and music. Both aspects are totally out there and pretty unique. The characters have some really good design. The alien characters look very goofy and have the voice acting to match it. In addition to that, there are times where they start singing songs and dancing around, which is pretty hilarious.

The Kore Gang is like a mix of Psychonauts and The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's a fun little game, and it's also incredibly inexpensive, so I recommend giving it a look if this kind of game interests you.

This game is a great value. The graphics are colorful & crisp. One little glitch is the camera sometimes doesn't move the way you want it to-but this seems to be a recurring feature in a lot of Wii games. I wish there were more save points in the game; it seems to take a little while to get through the level (then you can save). You can toggle between 2 characters to accomplish your goal. And, the characters have a weird sense of humor. Pick it up-you'll enjoy it.

Take one glance at The Kore Gang, and it looks like it has all the makings of a cult classic- imaginative worlds, goofy characters, and creative platforming. The premise is charming- a misfit trio in a powerful robot suit must journey into the center of the earth to stop outvading monsters. Playing it on the other hand is a completely different story. The levels look crazy, but what happens in them is bogstandard and bland. Most levels have you on the hunt for buttons to open the pathway to the next button hunt. The basic controls are acceptable, but many of the special moves make ill advised usage of motion controls. One bossfight later in the game requires you to spin the wii remote constantly for about ten minutes! Other special moves range from awkward to extremely unfun (such as cracking safes). Its unfortunate that such a charming looking game is bogged down by generic level structure and poor gameplay decisions. The game was in development for 7 years, but this title would have felt dated even if it released back on the original Xbox when it was supposed to. Now almost a decade later, and on a system with some of the best and the most creative platformers this generation, its hard to recommend The Kore Gang to anyone.

It's shocking to me how there aren't more reviews for this game. It really is a hidden gem. The game play was fantastic, engaging and just plain fun!

You play as three characters in the same body suit. You can change them anytime you want and they all have different abilities. And while these characters are nice, the other characters in the game all have very precise voices with great voice acting. The characters are cute, fun and are very amusing and I liked them all.

The atmosphere and scenery of this game is awesome! So colorful and engaging. There are many different boards and most look so different and whimsical like. Very corky.

The game itself is not hard (unlike many other wii games) yet there is still a nice level of challenge to it. I never got bored with this game and was always excited to play it. I also never found myself really frustrated with any parts in the game (except for one battle right near the end).

Really great game, worth a try for anyone who has not played it.
