This review is from: Korg KAOSSCASE Nylon Travel Case for KAOSSILATOR or miniKP
As a 56-year-old rock and honky-tonk drummer who has been fascinated by electronic music for many years and has no formal musical training of any sort I was intrigued by the Kaossilator's looping, rhythm-building capabilities. I finally decided to make the purchase after reading quite a few positive reviews and watching several YouTube videos. Once it arrived I plugged in my headphones and immediately began building tracks that I found interesting and fun. The layering of various percussion, bass, synth, and "acoustic" sounds can develop quite complex and interesting patterns. The next step was to get some long RCA cords so I could hook up the Kaossilator to my big Behringer keyboard amp, which I normally use for powering a set of Roland V-Drums. The difference between the headphone sound and the full amplifier sound is colossal and really adds to the fun. The next phase will be recording tracks directly into my Tascam 8-track digital recorder and adding vocals and other instruments. And of course I can hardly wait to develop enough proficiency to use the Kaossilator in a live performance situation. I think it's also worth pointing out that children love the thing. I spent an afternoon goofing around with it with a friend's 7-year-old son and he was having a blast while we created rhythms and added weird sounds to his delight. In summation, I'd say it's a wonderfully fun toy that has practical applications for the experimental musician. I also bought the Kaosscase and the AC power adapter, both of which work just fine.

I bought this case so that I could take my Kaossilator with me on MARTA (the Atlanta subway) on the way to school. I basically just wanted something so that if I dropped it there would be a little cushion. This is a nice form fitting case, and provides a good bit of cushioning, however it does make pressing a few buttons hard, mainly the gate button and the Tempo button somewhat. I can fit the little diagram of the patterns in behind the machine, and a set of headphones in the outside pocket. I think I will mainly use this case to transport the Kaossilator and take it out when actually using it. If you want to be able to uninhibitedly use your Kaossilator with a case on it, don't get this. If you can deal with a little bit of searching for the gate button, or just for transporting your machine, this is perfect.on a side note, I ordered free standard shipping and it got here the next day! Unique Squared is a great seller.
