5.0 out of 5 stars One Hell of a Band Get's one Hell of a Book
This book is very imformative about Korn and it's members, from the early years of LADP, and SexArt, all the way up to the latest of them all, Issues. I highly recommend this book to the folks wanting to know where Korn is really comming from. Find out the pain Jonathon went through, and how much they like Jager. The informative abstracts from interviews make it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing the Average KoRn Fan Doesn't Know
KoRn's been my favorite band for some time now and I try to read up on everything about them. Leah Furman's sketch of KoRn's career is everything it should be and it isn't bad, but provides very little insight or even opinion. The average KoRn fan has heard all of this from articles, interviews, and other KoRn fans. I was hoping for a more personal look into the band's...

I highly recommend this book to the folks wanting to know where Korn is really comming from. Find out the pain Jonathon went through, and how much they like Jager. The informative abstracts from interviews make it more of a personal acount on the boys part, instead of the writer's. I hope every Korn fan will buy this book, it is worth every cent you pay. You also get some awsome pictures I've never seen of these dudes. But the real question is: "R U Ready"?

4.0 out of 5 stars Not that bad, May 27, 2003
This review is from: Korn: Life in the Pit (Paperback)
It is a accurate but really long time KoRn fans would know most of the information in it, it may help maybe give more details to it but really all the book did was make what i knew from "unofficial sources" official and legit for my research paper on Jon Davis as a writer. If you are a parent who maybe curious about there child's favorite band that screams FAGET! real loud it's a good read. KoRn fans who care about little momentos like that I guess it's worth spending the ten dollars on the book because if KoRn is a band who you've supported from start and beyond it's kind of like a cool little item to show your dedication to the band. Hopefully after the next KoRn album a catch up version of this book will be written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Are You Ready?!?!?!, February 22, 2001

This review is from: Korn: Life in the Pit (Paperback)
The book KoRn Life in the Pit by Leah Furman is a good book for anyone that is courious about the band. It's a good bio for the band , but not for the guys in the band.It does tell a little bit about the boring up brining in Bakersfeild for the guy. Mostly the frontman Jon Davis's home front. The book does a good job of details of the very beging of the bands that fromed KoRn like SexArt and Creep and up the band second album Life is Peachy. When the book reaches the time of the third album Follow the Leader. The book is a little old and only goes up to the first recordings of the guys fourth album also know as Issues.

The way that Leah Furman gave a very detailed description ofthis very talented band is almost makes you wonder if how a band likeKoRn can really be that good. The book itself was informative ...GoodJob!

I was hoping for a more personal look into the band's lives, espeically Jon's, but instead I got just an overview I've heard a million times previously. But I guess Leah's rendition is about as personal and as insightful as it gets considering if the band or one of it's members decided to do an autobiography which I see being a very high possibilty someday. It's not like she was there very every moment. Everything she wrote about in this book she had read somewhere and that makes this biography very unadventurous to the average big time KoRn fan who has probably read from all the same sources as the author. This is more of a book I'd give my Dad to read when I'm finally fed up with him asking "What's with this KoRn business?" I also think the biography was written in a bad time. There's is much more to the story of KoRn that has already been written and will be written. Alot of this book was badly researched. Not anything dealing with KoRn, but when this book described the KoRn song "No Place To Hide" being nominated for the Grammy's it names the other nominees. And it refers to Tool's masterpeice "Aenima" as "Aenema" more than once as one of the nominees. Later in the book it also refers to Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba" as "Bamwitdaba." These writting errors are just irritating and are throughout this book. I guess it's not an overall bad read, but it's not overly exciting or informative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, February 4, 2011
This review is from: Korn: Life in the Pit (Paperback)
This is a short read, but a pageturner nonetheless. If you love KoRn or not, this is a great book. You read about their childhood all the way to the Issues Era. I recomend it
