Outstanding book, revealing and fact-filled,
By A Customer
This review is from: Kosovo (Hardcover)
The author, a recognized authority on the region, finally shares the many truths about Kosovo that have been so evasive in the revisionist history of recent months. A must-read for anyone interested in the background of this region, and anyone willing to obtain an objective review of the facts.

TheTruth prevails over quasihistory.,
This review is from: Kosovo (Paperback)
Everybody who still argues about such chauvinistic thesis as "illyrian descent of albanians","late settling of Slavs" and other hypothesis set by german nazional-socialistic historians(Gustaff Kossina),should contemplate the facts in this book. The theory that Slavs were indigenious to Balkan peninsula,is gaining more and more suport amoung certain scientist. The fact is that Serbians are idigenious people for at least several millenia-anthropologicaly-and language is second class category when ethnicity is in question-and it is more and more plausible that illyrians were actualy Slavs-inscription by Illyrian tribe of Veneti are found to be Slavic.Fact is that Illyrians inhabited entire Balkan, but there is not a single enclave of Albanians outside the south-western part of it.The truth is that Albanians have no ties with Illyrians-they call themselves Shiptars and are actually two peoples-Tosks and Ghegs. That they are recent settlers in kosovo is proven by fact that in albania there is ratio Christian vs. Muslims 60:40,while in kosovo ratio is 2:98-because Turks collonised only Muslims.By reading this book, reader will get first-class knowledge about authochtonity of Serbs in kosovo and how this teritory was settled by Albanians only in last 300 years-and how their numerical predominance is for only last few decades. Everybody should know to make difference between petty Brussels propaganda and historic truth. This book proves that Kosovo was,is,and will be Serbian-by the virtue of historical logic-regardless of the fact that world is turned upside-down since march 24,1999-simply because of Serbs ancient mentality-not to put themselves volontarily to slavery-as many Eastern Europians gladly did.

The author William Dorich uses the talents of well respected Writers,Historians & Professors in getting his history of Serbia & Serbians in Kosovo across to the reader. Dorich traces the Serbs in Kosovo from there arrival over 1000 years ago,to the famous battle of Kosovo in 1389 where the Serbian ruler Lazar led a combined Christian force of Serbs,Bosnians &Albanians against the Ottoman Turks, through the horrible years of Turkish rule, where many Serbs migrated out of Kosovo,& through the Balkan & World Wars where Serbs were again driven out of Kosovo with often tragic results.(ethnic cleansing!) Dorich also covers in detail the plight of serbs from Tito through to the 1980's,where the Albanian majority imposed numerous restrictions on minority Serbs while they (Albanians)ran the Government of the provence of Kosovo. THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ for all people interested in Serbian,Albanian,European & Balkan History.

Finally, the Truth Not Told by the Media,
By A Customer
This review is from: Kosovo (Paperback)
I've been wondering when someone would write an account of what has really been happening in Kosovo. I've seen nothing but anti-Serb bias in the media since they first picked the story up. What happens if you repeatedly lie and distort the truth for an extended period of time, then have the media buy into it? Apparently, it equals the so-called truth. At least that's what people who only rely on the media and pro-Muslim sources would have you believe. In reality, it is only a fallacious version of the truth brought on by the politically correct; which is about as far from the truth as you can get in this case. I thank you William Dorich for bringing your personal eye-witness testimony on the truth behind the conflict in Kosovo to the world. It IS a matter of attempted subjugation of the Serbian Orthodox by the Albanian Muslims.

People may disagree with what Mr. Doric writes...well, then check the sources! He has documented everything with extensive research and reference to sources. It is not a surprise that people are first hearing of some of these truths from his book...because no one on CNN is even remotely qualified to the degree Mr. Doric is! In addition to reading his book, I have heard him speak on tv and radio. Every time his opponents are forced to concede and admit that what he says is true. They cannot deny it! Anyone who cares about the truth and reads the book cannot deny it either!

Important history,
This review is from: Kosovo (Hardcover)
I don't recall when I purchased this magnificent 1992, William Dorich volume, published by the Kosovo Charity Fund and Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Alhambra, Ca. But given the destruction of magnificent Orthodox Christian churches over the last two decades in Kosovo and Serbia--most notably in the last few years--I am especially glad to have it.
The 180-page book is of museum catalog quality, including many photographs of the region's soaring mountainous landscapes, along with a generous pictorial record of ancient Balkan monuments, hundreds of which no longer exist or have been irreparably damaged by raging hoards. This book is an important reminder to would-be ambassadors of "good will"--like the misguided International Crisis Group--that recognizing an "independent" Kosovo will bring no "peace" to the Balkans, but only encouragement for a vastly expanded international jihad. The only reason that the Balkans were ever a "powder keg" was their repression for hundreds of years by Ottoman Muslim invaders. Western lovers of freedom, democracy and the rule of law would be wise to learn the under-reported, and misrepresented history of Kosovo and the Serbians. Anthropologists who claim to know better evidently relied too heavily on a deluded international press corps, determined to mislead the public into the foreseeable future. --Alyssa A. Lappen

a wonderful book,

This review is from: Kosovo (Paperback)
Dorich is the hero of all who yearn for justice in the balkans. Thank you kind sir for helping to educate us and show the the truth behind the new Jihad being waged in eastern europe. This book has helped awake me to the turht behind the destruction of Orthodoxy in the lands of Kosovo and Croatia. The western media has overlooked this because it is biased and disgusting. It is worse then the holocaust because the media now knows the truth about the cleansing of serbs but ignores it because the media is pro Muslim and hates christians, expecially christians who stand up for themselves(probably this is why the media doesnt mind the holocaust because the Jews went like sheep, had the jews fought to the last as they did in Warsaw the media would have called them racist against the nice germans). This is the case in Kosovo, and this book tells the truth, that one day we shall reclaim our ethnic land and force the foreign monster back to from whence he came.

William Dorich, a known Serb propagandist,
By Mark Twain (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kosovo (Paperback)
This guy does not belong in publishing, at least not without a "This is propaganda" disclaimer. The book, available for free on Serb church propaganda sites, is laughable, as it portray Serbs as suffering and resisting occupation. In doing so. he totally ignores the fact that the Serbian Church collected the tax for the Sultan, and that Serbs fought FOR the Sultan in more than a gazillion occasions. Serbs also had a good habit of giving their daughters to the Sultan and Turkish soldiers in exchange for protection.
Serbs fought ONE battle and they make it seem as they saved the world from the Turks. Others, Albanians (never read that in his book,) Hungarians and Romanians fought and won dozens of battles against the Turks. Serbs and Greeks? Good question....hmmm. --"Marko Krajlevic and Konstantin Dejanovic take part on the Turkish side in Kosovo battle in 1389 (Rif: Decei 'Istoria Imperiului' 54- Vladimir Corovic 'Boj na Kosovu' 191) --Nov 10, 1444: "Djurdadj Brankovic, contributed to disastrous defeat of Christian alliance by informing sultan Murad and barring the road by which Scanderbeg [Albanian who beat two sultans in 13 Victories] had intended to traverse and barring the road by which Scanderbeg had intended to traverse Serbia to join Christian forces at Varna." (Cambridge Medieval History 4, 572-73. --He does the same 4 years later against Hunyadi (M. Kostic 'Opis Vojske' 90) --"Sept 25, 1396, Stefan Lazarevic a crucial factor at Turkish victory in Nicopolis, over an Europian alliance (rif: Cambridge Medieval History 4, 561) --"he could have chosen to sit aside and claim neutrality, like the Bulgarians, but he hated Hungarians and chose fidelity to his Muslim overloard" (rif: Tuchman 'A distant mirror' 560) I'll stop now. And the Serbian independence: Thank Russia for it. Serbs rose to actually help the Sultan against rogue Janissary corps. Russia won the battles and gave their puppet state independence when settling terms with the Sultan. On whether Serbs were victims in 1990's: Well, Serbs suffered because they lost all the four wars they started and didn't succeed in exterminating their neighbors. Just as the Germans, Italians and the Japanese suffered in 1940's. Serbs too, did manage to kill some 200,000 people, rape about 50,000 women (be really proud guys, rape is manly!) destroy over 1000 Croation Catholic Churches and god knows how many houses. Had they stayed within their borders and not tried to kill, rape and exterminate entire population, they would not have suffered. Will they do it again? They will try, and that's where their 'Church' who actively supported Karadzic and Mladic and writers like Dorich come in: By portraying Serbs as victims (again!) they set the stage for the next generation to try to "undo the injustice." Dorich, the coward, never went there to fight, he merely instigates others. |
