3.0 out of 5 stars A little tinny but good overall
This microphone produces a high treble output (not surprising based on its size) The flexible portion of the arm is a nice feature but over time it gets a little limp.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quick test, January 23, 2006

After being very upset w/ my Plantronics .Audio Microphone, I bought a couple to test out. Of them were the Logitech USB, Olympus ME-12, and this Koss M-18 (all available as of this date on Amazon). The prices are similar, with Logitech USB being the highest at $19.99 & Olympus at a low $10.99.

Unfortunately, the Koss had the poorest noise canceling out of the three. Also, its adjustable neck was a lot less firm than I was hoping; any bump to the desk causes the mic head to jiggly & tremble for a good full two seconds.

Overall, this isn't a bad mic & is perfect for casual use. Also the fact that it ISN'T a USB device may be a plus for most people, as setting up USB devices w/ a poorly designed audio application might be a problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Too Bad, July 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this for speech recognition using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred - Medium Box. It worked, but it also picks up my breathing and anything in the background. It is a little bit too sensitive to be highly accurate. But if you're in a quiet place it should be fine. And it is great for talking to people, no matter what program you use.
