The player is equipped to deliver the full image potential of DVDs when viewed on a high-definition or HD-ready TV. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, providing higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.
The player handles most standard disc formats, including CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 CD, WMA CD, DVD-R/-RW, and DVD+R/+RW--terrific for enjoying homemade DVDs from family and friends. Dolby Digital and DTS surround passthrough (from a choice of two digital-audio outputs, one optical and one coaxial) as well as Dolby Digital decoding--all of which put you in the jungle with the dinosaurs and in the concert hall with music videos, when hooked up with compatible receivers and multi-channel speaker systems. Dolby decoding lets you use the player with older audio/video receivers that offer 5.1-channel analog inputs but no onboard surround processing.
Other features include five-disc resume play (which lets you restart discs from your previous stopping points), parental locking, a vacuum fluorescent display (VFDs are self-lighting, unlike LCDs, requiring no backlight), and a full-function remote control that lets you manage the proceedings from a favorite spot on the couch.
What's in the Box
DVD player, remote control, remote batteries, user's manual, stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable.

KOSS DVD PLAYERS,
By A Customer
This review is from: Koss KS3122 Ultra-Slim Progressive-Scan DVD Player (Electronics)
DON'T BUY IT! I bought a KOSS DVD player and it broke in 6 months. I was told I was out of luck because the warranty is only 90 days. They do not do repairs. My only option is to buy a new one and wasn't even offered a discounted price for it. I have seen several complaints like mine about KOSS on the web. They make JUNK and they make it to last just to get past the warranty period and then it breaks. Oh, by the way I loved it until it broke.

Progressive scan,
By A Customer
This review is from: Koss KS3122 Ultra-Slim Progressive-Scan DVD Player (Electronics)
The progressive scan is software configured ( through the remote) and only works through the component video output section of the player. It will not run through the s-video output. If you wish to use it as a regular player through the s-video then it's ok but you may wish to pay the extra bucks for one that outputs to a variety of outputs.
