Not the best for volume control ...,

This review is from: Koss KTX6 Portable Stereophone Headphones (Electronics)
I bought these headphones on the spur of the moment. I was leaving for vacation and needed some cheap headphones. These headphones certainly were a bargain. Not only is the price great, but they are quite comfortable and the swiveling earphones are great when storing them. The only problem is the volume control. It is very touchy. My suggestion is to just keep it on the mid-setting and use your CD player's volume control.

Good sound, but CHEAP plastic!!,

Mine broke within two weeks, the right headphone started to rotate a full 360 degrees when it should have been only 45 degrees. I thought crazy glue would help but they broke again, soon the week after same thing happened to the other one. Tried using crazy glue again for nothing, three weeks later the right headphone broke completely (a thin piece of plastic that holds it to the metal rotating piece just broke). Needless to say these were trash, and perhaps too big for the design. Had they been smaller they would have survived. I yet have to send them to see if KOSS would honor their lifetime warranty. Very dissatisfied, I paid thrice what they sell here since I bought them downtown and was in a hurry to get headphones that day, very disappointed.

Nice Set for the price,

I got these with my Creative Zen Touch MP3 player and the quality is great. I am not a HUGE headphone guy considering im just a 14 year old guy. These headphones are great and comfortable. The volume adjuster is also great and you can't beat the price tag. The only complaint I have is that you can hear the music from the outside. So if I'm listening to my music people around me can also hear it relatively well and CRYSTAL CLEAR when I turn everything up. Overall Great headphones I just wish they had leather ear phones not foam.

Twist and Shout! These Headphones Lay Flat!,
By MartyHansen (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews

Do you want to store your headphones in a low, flat space (such as a top desk drawer or between files in a briefcase)? I did -- so I purchased these Koss headphones where the earpieces actually twist to allow them to lay flat (on the same plane as the headband) and take up less space (thickness) as compared to other folding headphones.I use these headphones with my desktop computer -- where I store the headphones in a very narrow top desk drawer. I also carry another set along with my Audiovox 7" portable DVD player in another small, narrow satchel (which I'll tote around to my son's piano lessons, and to my daughter's dance lessons, on the weekends). In either case, the Koss KTX-6's twist-flat construction makes for a very low profile that's perfect for my needs. (The headphones also have a separate volume control which is a very nice feature, and much more convenient that adjusting it on the electrical device itself.) I have other traditional (bend-in-the-middle-of-the-headband style) headphones, which I'll employ when I have a wider (thicker) space. But when the storage area is relatively flat -- the Koss KTX-6 is definitely the better way to go!

GREAT TV HEADPHONE,
This review is from: Koss KTX6 Portable Stereophone Headphones (Electronics)
This is a great headphone for TV. Have used a couple of them over the past year. The volume control is a necessary item with some TVs. The volume control on this item is too range sensitive but it serves the purpose. Sound eficiency and quality is very good. I have yet to find the headphone tiring or uncomfortable over extended use periods. The headband has broken just above the swivel but is easy to repair/fix. This is an open-air model, which is desirable for TV use. The Koss KTX6 headphone is hard to beat for TV watching.

I liked the scound Quality and the volume control. The problem i had was that the twist part broke and one of the plastic parts that holds the speaker peice broke. They were in my backpack which gets beat up alot and i had them for about 6 mounths. They are probably the best headphones you can buy for 5 bucks.

I thought these would be lightweight. I like the item, but prefer headphones to have a light band around the head. I was not that happy with it. I compared it to my old set, and saw a noticable difference.

Holds up well!,

Been using the same pair of these for over 7 years now and they've held up well. Granted, these are not the 'phones I use most frequently (although they once were). They fit well and sound about as good as you can get with this type. Earbuds do work better for me, sound-wise, but having pieces of plastic jammed in your ears can get very uncomfortable and even the best ones will start to fall out after awhile.
The earpieces themselves fold up for easy storage, and there is an in-line volume control, though I usually leave it on the highest setting and adjust my mp3 player's volume control. Of course there are better headsets out there, but they work well for the price I paid for them way back in May 2002!

Competent sound quality, low price, lay flat, but break easily,

The sound quality, while not as good as the Porta Pros, is very decent. I'm almost an audiophile, but I happily use these with my laptop for listening to youtube videos and such. I like that they fold flat to fit in a laptop bag. The price is great because I don't have to worry about babying them; if they break I just buy a new pair. But they do break; I've gone through three pairs over a few years that suffered the same issue: They start to swivel 360 degrees rather than only 90 degrees, and then putting them on your head makes you look like mickey mouse. I'm on the fence about getting another pair or trying to find something a bit more solid.
