These head phones were just what I was looking for. I checked online to see what was said about them and the worst I read was a review (from 2007 which should have been a clue) which said 512mb of storage seemed inadequate. I wasn't worried about that, so I went ahead and ordered them For $300.00 headphones, I was apprehensive when I took them out of the (impressive packaging BTW) box. They felt like the headphones you get from the airlines. Very light plastic and buttons with a flimsy feel. I plugged them into my computer and waited overnight. The download was drag and drop which I thought was strange considering other interfaces available today. When I tried to turn them on, even though the green light wasn't flashing anymore (which indicated it was fully charged), nothing happened. I e-mailed customer service who was hung up that the head phones were charged for the period I said they were. Then I was referred to the 1-800 number for customer service. Customer service was the last extension on the list. Possibly an indication as to where they value customer service. On the plus side, I was put into contact with Shirley right away and she immediately diagnosed it was the battery and indicated several customers have sent them back for that reason. Couldn't send them back to Amazon quick enough. Not only has this tainted my view of these headphones specifically, but the entire Koss product line. Shirley told me these have been discontinued, so I would encourage Amazon to take them off their site.

I bought these to use while mowing grass or running my tractor with snow blower attachment. Turns out, you don't need any fancy noise canceling headphones, these do the job better. Let me explain: I don't want to hear NOTHING while I am running a small engine. I DO want to hear the music OVER the engine which is what these do, and do it very well. Koss should change their marketing scheme to address yard work applications. Also, the bass response is outstanding because your NOT listening to an earbud or small on-ear headphone. The fact that these have no wires is just one of the great features. I fit about 70 songs (mp3) in memory which translates to about 4 hours of music, plenty to listen to while snow blowing or cutting grass and the list of songs just repeats, great. Also, the battery last almost ten hours because you're not constantly using the controls, just load up with 70 songs you want and let it play. I plugged it into my USB port on my Mac mini, and the headphones came up as an external drive. Just drag and drop files and when u want to change music, trash the ones you don't want (don't forget to empty trash) and reload new songs. These are EXTREMELY simple to use. I'm going to buy a back-up pair. The only issue I would have was that these were so hard to find on-line. Thanks for the nice product Koss. I should have known, Koss was the first headphones I ever bought back in 1974.

For us fuddy duddies who don't need 654 options, features and choices, this is really a great device. They headphones are nice and snug, comfortable, there are no wires in the way, and they don't flop around around or threaten to come off when I'm bending over, running, walking, etc.

These are features that I personally value, so they're not for everyone.

Cons: The fast forward and review buttons only skip forward or backward a song. On most any type of player, if you hold these buttons down, the song fast forwards vs. skips, etc. so this is like .... 1970's technology here....but not a deal breaker. It would be nice to be able to change tone settings, maybe a little window to see what song is playing, etc. but really, this is just nit picky. This MP3 player is for folks who want to put them on, press a button and listen to a handful of songs and not be bothered by anything else. This is NOT a good choice if you're one of those people who feels their entire MP3 collection should be stored on their mp3 player. I keep 20-30 songs on. I'm a musician, so I go through "fetishes" of what I want to hear and it's never more than 10-12 songs.

I'd give it two thumbs up all in all. I don't know about durability yet, but they do seem very high quality.
