These headphones are the 4th pair I have owned from Koss and the 1st pair I have owned made to work for the iPhone. The plug is not the standard audio jack but has an extra connection for the built in microphone. The picture showing the earphones also shows the small oval part that contains the microphone and also the phone answer/end button. When you are listening to music and receive a call, you can just press the little button on the headphone cord to answer the call and begin talking without removing the headphones from your ear. You will hear the person in both ear pieces! When done with the call, you can just press the little button again to end. The soft foam ear piece is very comfortable and blocks out most of the outside noise. I even use them as noise blockers when I want to take a nap. The cord is very thin and weighs nothing at all. It even comes with a little pouch to hold everything neatly. There are extra foam ear cushions in the box when the first ones wear out. I have only replaced mine once in over a year. They are much easier to insert than the hard iPhone ear pieces or the headphones that hook over the ear. If you accidentally pull them out, it doesn't hurt as much either.

I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I was having trouble listening to my iPhone on the subway and in other noisy environments. These phones are cheap and isolate your audio very well. They are basically simple earbud speakers wrapped in foam earplugs with a hollow center, so outside noise is almost completely shut out. Even at low volume you'll get a crystal-clear sound with little interference from outside. Especially good for listening to spoken word, jazz and other "quieter" tracks. If ordinary earplugs do not "get along" with your ears, though, these will also be uncomfortable.

Great buds for iPhone. They have everything I was looking for: in ear; noise isolation; microphone with control button. I am a former Koss customer. They are great.

The sound quality is not as good as past "spark plug" earphones I've had. I can hear the membrane "crinkle" as I walk... which is disappointing.

I also have complaints from people on the other end of a horrible echo.

These comments come from a long-time user of non-in-ear earbuds (like the Apple buds)

Pros:
- Good sound quality compared to inexpensive ear buds.

Cons:
- Any pressure on the cord easily pulls out your left earbud. The cord runs to the left earbud, then from the left earbud to the right. I prefer that the cord split and be equal length to each ear so that small tugs on the cord won't pull out the buds.
- There is a rigid plastic piece that runs deep into your ear. If you are at risk of bumping the side of your head, it's very dangerous to wear these becasue the solid plastic piece will poke your eardrum.

Great for airplanes or high noise environments, but not good for most any other situations that I can think of. These headphones (for earbuds) sound really good, and great in the bass range. Midrange and high end sounds kinda scratchy but, again, really sound pretty good especially for the price. I use them with my iPhone gen 1 and they are compatible and work fine. Here is the problem... they cut out too much environmental sound. They cut out ALL sound. They eliminate all noise just like the best earplugs you can find. When you use them to talk on the phone, it is strange cause you hear your own voice in your head and it sounds very weird when you talk. When do you ever need that kind of quiet? At work, I can't use them to have any phone calls because I can not hear my office phone or anyone trying to get my attention. You can not use them in the car, cause I think it is dangerous to not hear traffic or car horns. You could not hear a siren if it was right next to you! Seriously! You would never want to use them when you walk or ride a bike, cause you always need to hear cars and people around you at least a little. Buy these, enjoy the sound, but be careful how and where you use them.

Great sounding earbuds for the money. Not as accurate as other brands such as JBL, Senheizer. The sound isolation is better than most earbuds on the market. No volume control or button to activate the mic function....but still good value.

I love all of my Koss headsets, and this is just the latest. The ear buds are much more comfortable for me than any others - I can't stand the hard edges of most (the Apple ones in particular), so when I got the iPhone I needed a set with the built-in button for answering calls or activating Siri. I also really like the wire material, it doesn't kink or tangle easily, which is great since I keep the in the pouch they come with when not in use. The sound quality is very good, and I can wear these for hours while I'm mowing the lawn or exercising without discomfort. Highly recommended.

Koss makes some great headphones and these are no exception. Plus they come with a lifetime warranty!!!
They are very comfortable and great sound quality. I haven't had any complaints or anything about the quality of my voice or background noise.
