I did not really care for this book. Alot of words, not many pictures, and very confusing on trying to look something up. Not a help to me at all.

Really enjoyed this guide; I was surprised to find that some of my "dust collectors" are actually quite valuable!

Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price List, 38th Edition,2006 is a fantastic reference book for those that have heirloom antiques and are not aware of their actual monetary value. I was amazed to discover that many of the items that I own are actually worth much more than I realized. The detailed information about identifying certain labels and other distinguishing marks has been most helpful in taking my own personal inventory. I would highly recommend this reference to any serious antique collector.

This version expands on photos and is a better paper quality than past versions. As always, Kovals has extensive listings and clear descriptions, but the additional pictures are an added benefit.

Very nice book. Spent hours looking at it. The only thing is that I wish it had more pictures. But, it is a wonderful guide for anyone interested in antiques.

I purchase this book annually. It covers such a vast area with antiques and collectibles. If I can't find something in one year's issue, it is usually in another and gives me some idea of value.

I bought this with the hope it would help me put a value on some of my antiques. I was very disappointed. The authors use asking prices, not actual sale prices, and admit the markup on asking prices is as high as 50%. Many many listings but very few pictures and the written descriptions are only a few words, not enough to really identify items.

I did not like this book at all. I found it very limited. Information was geared mostly to figurines, bottles, dolls, vases, cup and saucers, toys, etc.
There was a lot of information on furniture but very, very few pictures.
Very little information on 'country' type antiques, which is what I was looking for.

I think that if you want to be a dedicated collector you MUST go through Kovel's book before you buy any antique or collectible. If you do not do that you may be cheat it by persons that have more information by reading and consulting this excelent book and other ones. I live in Chile and my contacts are more difficult that for those who live in USA or Europe. That is why I also recommend this book to foreign collectors

I like all of Kovel's book's. I only wish they had more pictures of their discription's on certain item's. What does cartouche, crosshatched,baluster etc. mean? Overall a good book for collecters.
