I used to purchase the Senokot S to help me with the side effect (from my pain medication) of constipation. My doctor at the Rehab Institute of Chicago, said it is the perfect pill to take to counteract that side effect. This works just as well as the Senokot S, having the same active ingredient and is just so much cheaper. You will not be dissapointed in this product. You need to drink plenty of fluids and if you take it before bedtime like I do, keep a bottle of water next to your bed, as you may wake up thirsty. Compared to other products I've tried this gives you a normal result with no uncomfortable cramping. I had to take 3 to 4 pills a night. My mother in law in Seattle takes it now as well, and if very pleased. You don't have to worry about using it every day as long as you know what is causing the constipation. If it doesn't work for you I would see your doctor in case you have a physiological reason for the problem, like an intestinal blockage. There should be no blood. If there is you could have a serious medical problem. (Yes, I'm a nurse and feel I have to add this info just to be safe).

Out of all the laxatives I have tried, This is probably the best. It is gentle and gets the job done.
