MAGNIFICENT PIECES, WONDERFUL PERFORMANCES, February 13, 2009

The first time I heard the E flat major Clarinet Concerto op. 36 by Franz Krommer (Frantisek Vincenc Krommer-Kramar 1759-1831) I became so excited . . . well lets just say I became excited. Here is the very performance I heard on the radio that day. With it are both of Krommers Double Clarinet Concertos. This is buoyant music reminiscent of Mozart. The opening coda of op. 36 gives you a good idea what to expect. A safe investment in hours of enjoyment.
