Book Description

Book 2 of the Western Front Series
The sequel to The Western Front.

Darkness has descended upon the world; the fabric of society has been torn asunder, sovereign nations collapse under their own burdens, once stable governments are ushered into revolution and allies of old are thrust into war. The tentacles of darkness have inevitably traveled across the Atlantic and are now tightening their grip on the American republic.

Now, faced with a collapsing economy, a failing currency and a society that is swiftly casting its humanity aside, the United States stands at the precipice of a bedlam and malevolence not witnessed since the fall of Rome.

Picking up several weeks after the events in The Western Front, Kratocracy follows follows new and old characters including:

Barrett & Reese lead a group of Texas irregulars across the borderlands on horseback, in an attempt to break the cartels' grip in the area.

Governor Baker tries to spread the truth of who was really behind the terror strikes, while feverishly working to broker an alliance with the Nine of the North.

Meanwhile, the iron fist of tyranny rises in the east, threatening all who dare to stand in defiance.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"I have been a fan of Archer Garrett's books since I stumbled across The Western Front on my Amazon Kindle. This new book continues The Western Front series.

From the first page of the first chapter, the book jumps right into the crazy action that I enjoy from all of Archers books.

With all the intrigue aside, and I'm not going to give away any of the plots, yes plots. I think I like the books because of how well the storyline is thought out and the characters have developed through out the series." -Ad Parare

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down!! June 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading the "Western Front", I had to buy "Kratocracy", the 2nd in this series. It was everything a series could be. Patriotic, so close to where we are headed with the current leadership. I could not put this book down. I loved the characters. I highly recommend this book. I am immediately buying the 3rd in the series, "The Nine of the North". Bravo Archer Garrett...Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Waiting . . . March 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My first exposure to Mr. Garrett's work was in the Kindle versions of Western World 1 - 3. I immediately rolled over into Kratocracy on finishing WW 1-3.

Archer Garrett has a very strong grasp on character development, dialog, emotion, plot development--pretty much all phases of novel structure. Good writer, in short. He left Kratocracy with so many balls in the air that I'll hire a lawyer if he doesn't finish off some of the bad guys believably in the ending books. Good guys, bad buys--tons of bad guys--still need to be dealt with.

I also got Crescent City without realizing it was a prequel to WW 1-3. Ah, well, I'll certainly read it anyway.

Best to Mr. Garrett on his nest four or five ending novels on this series.

Thanks!

Bob

3.0 out of 5 stars good story but I hate the format March 19, 2014
By Joseph
Format:Kindle Edition
This isn't a trilogy like LTR. It is one book split up into god knows how many parts. I understand there may be economic reasons for doing it this way but I am not a fan. If there was closure between the sections I would be OK with it but it just stops. There may be more risk in selling just one book but the author wouldn't aggravate the reader as much. A good story doesn't need gimmicks it can stand on its own. That being said, I enjoyed the series and plan on buying all the silly chapters. I plan on reading the rest of AG's work.

4.0 out of 5 stars real except no good guys die September 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I live and work on the border. In real life it is a dangerous, tough place. This book is a little bit naive (the narcoleros are not this dumb) but still a good read. The developing plot about Muslims aligning with the cartels has some legs but in real life, the Chinese are more likely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, yet again. October 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have now read 4 of Mr. Garrett's books. All reflect excellent writing and thoughtful examination of future possibilities. Highly recommended.

My only complaint is that he has not already published the next book in this series.

I think it is ridiculous that Amazon makes us write these silly, redundant, insulting, moronic reviews for everything we buy.

Any time freedom comes out on top it is a satisfying story. Some packages were tied up a bit too neatly, but am waiting for the sequel.
