5.0 out of 5 stars Bored of today's (stuff) from America??? Check this out!
This is the first Greek artist I had ever heard before buying this album, hearing only one song of Vissi’s called Andidoto on a “Sony International Music” CD. 2.0 out of 5 stars Poor stuff
Anna Vissi is a lot more predictable than she would like to believe she is . As years go by , her music becomes more commercial and less original . Frankly , she seems tired . And up to a certain level , it's natural for her to feel that way . Think about it : she tried to build a noteworthy career outside Greece but failed , she has conquered everything there is to...

"jimjimjonny" (: sadly, America - the mainstream music country) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kravgi (Audio CD)
This is the first Greek artist I had ever heard before buying this album, hearing only one song of Vissi’s called Andidoto on a “Sony International Music” CD. Anna Vissi’s wonderful voice and beautiful Greek sound mixed with today’s pop and rock made me open my eyes to a whole new world of music that I never even knew existed. After listening to only one song by Anna Vissi, I did not, at all, hesitate to buy this new 2-CD album of hers. And I was in no way disappointed, whatsoever. It is everything I hoped for, wanted, and expected… and even much more! In my opinion, the first disc has more songs that are more mainstream tunes. But the second disc didn’t disappoint me either. It is just as excellent! The only thing I don’t understand is why in the world is this artist not popular in America??? From what I’ve heard, she is superb, and although I don’t understand the slightest word of modern Greek, I adore her music and her voice… and aren’t those two of the three most important things an artist should have? The only thing I can say to anyone viewing this page is: Buy this Album, no matter what language you speak, I guarantee you will not regret it; you will love her music just as much as I do!

5.0 out of 5 stars As great as Greek music can get!, November 12, 2001
This review is from: Kravgi (Audio CD)
I'm not a fan of Greek music in particular, but with this album everybody is a fan! And just as if one great CD wasn't enough, you'll get TWO GREAT CD's when you buy this album!

The best thing about this album is how diversified the tastes it pleases! For example, "Kravgi" and "Epilogi Mou" are very beautiful songs in techno style, "Atmosfaira Ilektrismeni" is more like Italien (kind of like the music you hear in the Godfather movies!), while "Xoris To Moro Mou" is almost like an Arabian song... A very beautiful Arabian song!

Those songs as well as "Sxixofreneia", "To Poli Poli", and "Kaka Paidia" each is amazing in its unique style and touching beauty!

I recommend this album for all people with all tastes! Every single friend of mine who rode the car with me and heard these songs expressed his/her admiration of this amazing singer, Anna Vissi!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Vissi, May 8, 2003
This review is from: Kravgi (Audio CD)
Anna Vissi has been successfully singing for many many years and it looks like she is still famous, but unfortunately she could not make her name well known over the borders of Greece. She even tried to make a CD in English ('Everything I Am') couple of years ago, but it was a failure.

'Kravgi' is a double CD, pretty 'commercial', I would say, but something that can be enjoyed a lot at parties or in the car.You will listen to nice samples of traditional Greek music and I think it is a good start for someone who wants to get acquainted with this musical region of the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Appealing, January 28, 2003
This review is from: Kravgi (Audio CD)
Excellent Greek female singer. Since I don't speak Greek, I don't know much about the songs. I have heard „De me Agapas" on a „Buddha Bar" compilation, and because of that I have bought this double album. And I didn't regret it. The music is very much worth listening, and sometimes it may be quite appealing not to understand the text. The whole double CD is very nicely made.

Regardless of what country you are from you really should listen to this great CD. There are great pop songs and traditional Greek folk songs and it is a pleasure to listen to. I made my friends and family listen to it- they enjoyed the music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Vissi, April 11, 2002

Anna's music doesn't get any better than this. If you thought she couldn't get any better with her music then wait till you hear this. I own all of her cds and this ranks as one of her classics. All musical styles are covered by Ms Vissi and in true contemporary form melts both europoean and western styles together. Too much info for me to go into here needless to say it's a must for any cd collection. I might be a bit bias here as I adore all of Anna's work but that is not to say that anyone who doesn't speak or understand Greek should miss out on hearing this 2 disc set. She is miles ahead of her pack and for that she will always be a true entertainer in every sense of the word. Can't wait for her tour Down Under next month.

5.0 out of 5 stars I agree with Vangelis, May 14, 2001

Vangelis is right on this one for sure. This CD is one of Anna's best, and everything she has done since "Fotia" has been marvellous. "Kravgi" is every song a winner, the duet with Keti Garbi is so lighthearted, catchy, and has a surprise a capello hook toward the end. Both sides of this CD are varied and you won't ever skip any song on either side, they are that good. Nikos Karvelas and Anna Vissi are a musical match made in Heaven. If you are new to Anna's music, this is a great place to start. Overall, this CD is brighter and happier than "Antidoto" (and I loved that one too! What better guide to the world of deep emotions and soaring elation can there be than Anna Vissi? Sorry Dante, you and Virgil better sit this one out and join the rest of us enamored with Anna Vissi). "Kravgi" has a great range of the Vissi magic, with the ballads, the dance, the melding of Greek melody with rock power and the intoxicating bliss and energy of Anna Vissi singing. She always has the best musicians backing her up. It's just wonderful! All Anna Vissi fans will love this one, the only thing we can wish for is more, and this is with almost two hours worth of music on this double CD. Five stars means you just can't get enough. To the Cosmos we are grateful for Anna Vissi!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dare I say,........FABULOUS !!, March 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kravgi (Audio CD)
KRAVGI is an excellent mix of Greek music styles in which Anna shows her variety. From traditional Greek sounds (plenty of Bouzouki to please the purist) to dance and Greek rock, this 2 CD set covers it all. This is the MUST HAVE Anna Vissi....when your ready to fall in love with Anna ( and who isn't ??) this is the CD for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Nylon, May 25, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kravgi (Audio CD)
I bought Nylon recently and it was a BIG disappointment;so I bought Kravgi and lo! the Holy Grail of Greek music was revealed to me!It's a great mix of disco, operatic, and traditional Greek music. Her voice has incredible power at times.Sad to say, going by Nylon, her voice seems to have reached it's peak here on Kravgi. All her albums previous to this one are highly recommended too.The problem is getting hold of them! Also try Natassa Theodoridou, who in my opinion, has a superior voice.
