Apparently, pocket hole systems are all the rage and Kreg is making a killing by marketing their kits and ancillary gadgets. I can understand why pocket-hole joinery is popular. It is a versatile system that is less intimidating to beginning woodworkers or part-time hobbyists. Pocket hole joints are quick, and can be disassembled. But you would have to be very inexperienced to not see a better solution for work-holding.

This thing is nothing more than a toggle clamp with a metal plate. (Actually, HALF a pair of locking pliers) You have to mount the plate, which requires either building a custom surface, a box-jig or you must rout a mortise into your bench.

OR... You can buy good toggle clamps for less than ten bucks and screw them in place wherever you need them in about one minute. Further, standard toggle clamps are not so invasive. You can easily adjust them or modify simple clamping jigs to suit many specialized purposes, including all those pictured with this sales-pitch..

Having seen this jig in operation, I can attest that it works OK, but no better than a cheap toggle clamp which is MUCH easier to install and uninstall. I can't understand who would buy this thing, even if it were fairly priced. For what they're asking, you could buy enough clamps and lumber to build several really good clamping jigs.

Good product. Heavy duty. Works really good and is like having a helper in the shop.

These clamps work very well.
They allow clamping wood to insert pocket hole screws without hanging the clamps over the edge of the workbench
or raising the wood off of the workbench to clear the clamps.
They can be used on the workbench surface (come with small rubber button type feet) or embedded into the workbench.
