3.0 out of 5 stars Where's David?
This seems like an OK summary of much of the Bible, but it seems flawed in that the section devoted to 'The judges, kings and prophets', does not mention Saul, David or Solomon. I don't know how any kind of summary of the Bible that itself mentions that the most mentioned character in the Bible is David, has nothing on him. The information on kings of Judah and Israel...

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's David?, April 12, 2011

This seems like an OK summary of much of the Bible, but it seems flawed in that the section devoted to 'The judges, kings and prophets', does not mention Saul, David or Solomon. I don't know how any kind of summary of the Bible that itself mentions that the most mentioned character in the Bible is David, has nothing on him. The information on kings of Judah and Israel don't start until Rehoboam. Maybe there is another Kregel book that is just about Saul, David and Solomon?

In my opinion David and Solomon seem like central figures since they wrote some of the Bible. I guess it's good to have 2 pages on animals and instruments, but that doesn't seem as important.

This book was excellent. It is one you can pick up for short study times and pour over when you have more time to study. I highly recommend this book.
