The 30-inch display in Kreisen's LT-30FMP high-definition LCD television was made by none other than Samsung. The elegant widescreen set boasts a wealth of audio/video connections, an internal NTSC tuner for convenient broadcast-TV viewing, and a 1,280 x 768 WXGA-resolution image for crystal-clear imagery. A high (450:1) contrast ratio, a peak brightness of 450 candles/square meter, and wide (170 x 170-degrees, vertical/horizontal) viewing angles mean the set's picture will look great from just about anywhere in the room.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (around 50,000 hours, with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. They also tend to be more affordable than their flat-panel plasma counterparts, which often (though not always) offer faster response times and higher contrast ratios.

The LT-30FMP's 4H digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). Digital Color Transient Improvement (DCTI) reduces color smear along the vertical edges of bright-color areas, while a technology called Digital Luminance Transient Improvement (DLTI) enhances contrast for a sharper, more natural image.

The set accommodates 6 video sources: high-definition analog PC (D-Sub 15-pin), 1 each composite-video, S-video, and RF coaxial video (as for an antenna or an older VCR or cable box), a direct-digital DVI-I input (Digital Visual Interface for PC), and 1 set of high- or standard-definition component-video inputs.

The set's single-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture)/POP (picture-on-picture) feature lets you view one TV station and one video source (PC, DVD, etc.) simultaneously, either one atop the other or, in double-window mode, even side-by-side.

Other features of the LT-30FMP include closed-captioning, V-Chip parental control, 10 watts per channel x 2 stereo sound from built-in speakers, a dedicated monaural RCA subwoofer output for embellishing the set's sound through the use of a powered subwoofer (sold separately), and a table stand for easy positioning. (You can also mount the set on the wall.)

What a great TV for the price! First & foremost, I am amazed at the picture quality. It may be the sleek design of the unit, but I truly believe even old cable is better with this unit than our old CRT. I unexpectedly stmbled onto Kreisen's 30"+ LCD TV line. I have the 17" Wide TV/Monitor that I've had over a year now from Micro Center and it's been great. The 30" screen is HUGE! for computer screen. You literally have to sit back few feet to soak up 30" diagonal worth of computer screen. TV picture is crisp & bright. What a big difference it makes when you add an upscaling DVD player! At 720p, the movies are awesome. Highly recommended as this TV is made in Korea with LG-Philips panel. I believe they also make Zenith brand.

after 2 years of owning this tv, i went on holiday for a few days. i turned off everything. on my return i switched the tv on and it wouldnt stay on. it goes on for about 3 seconds and then turns off. kreisen's phone number is disconnected, im still waiting for the email reply. i paid a lot of money for this tv and i feel it should have lasted a bit longer like another 5 years. another item to mention, when i used it for the comp as a monitor , the icons leave a shadow on the screen. i would stay away from this tv.

Well the picture is ok, but to get to your input you have to scoll through the inputs to select the one you want, not good in a multi input setup....found black levels are very bad, and colors are ok....it's been one month and wish I waited for more reviews before I purchased this unit but the price got me, don't let it get you.....I'm in need of repairs and no support to be found any where, by phone or email. Search and think before purchasing any of these products, thank you for your time,JM of the lowcountry
