The pieces of Fritz Kreisler are a great fit for Elman's expressive and intimate playing style, and his elegant shifts, beautiful phrasing and supple tone (which he is famous for) give this recording a singular charm.

For those searching for a reasonably priced and available copy of this classic album, it can be found on a mid-priced 2-cd set from Vanguard entitled "Virtuouso Violin Masterpieces" that for some reason is not indexed properly in Amazon's search engine.
