5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE these etudes!, July 9, 2011
This review is from: Kreutzer - 42 Studies or Caprices: Violin Method (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics) (Paperback)
Even after 40 plus years of playing Violin, I still enjoy playing the Kreutzer etudes. They are amazing! Whether it is the shifting etude No. 11 or long bow control etude No. 1, they are all still so very useful and keep me in tip top shape. The octaves in No. 24 strengthen the left hand.

My adult students like the comedian Jack Benny's etude "do mi sol fa mi fa re mi" which is No. 2 in C Major. This etude contains 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions.

Students enjoy the challenge of many of the etudes. After mastering each etude individually, they feel a huge sense of accomplishment and confidence in their playing.

This book is an absolute must for any student wishing to develop at an advanced level. To me, this book is a masterpiece.
