In college in one of our concerts that were held every Thrusday we had the pleasure of seeing her play. I have never enjoyed jazz so much in my life, although I grew up in New Orleans. Kristin Korb has such a stage presence that she draws you in from the very beginning. If you ever have a chance to buy this CD, please do, you won't regret it. If you have a chance to see her live, you'll be blown away at her bass playing. She is truely an artist.

Kristin is a fresh new face and voice on the music scene. What many don't know is that she plays acoustic bass as well as she sings; and does both as the same time! This young woman was discovered by bass legend, Ray Brown, who introduces her on this recording. She has a unique vocal flair and her star is on the rise. Just wait till her next recording when she will be playing bass as well as singing. A dynamic new talent that we want more of! Kristin knocked 'em out at the International Society of Bassists' convention in early June; and there were a lot of big time bass players in attendance who were impressed with her artistry! Let's have more!

We recently had the opportunity to hear Kristin at a La Casa Del Zorro Resort Jazz Weekend in Borrego - a great scat voice and a bass player - what a fantastic combo! We were blown away. While La Casa consistently has talented musicians - she is one of the best we've heard there. We bought the CD right then and have enjoyed it ever since. We are eagerly awaiting her next CD, which hopefully will feature more of her fun and fanciful bass style.

Last week I had the time of my life with kristin at Frank DeMiero Jazz Camp '99. The camerata group I had with her was lots of fun. I listen to her CD every day.

I had the honor of spending the last week with Kristin at The Frank DeMiero Jazz Camp. Never before have I been more blown away by a single performer. Her music has a passion that cannot be described. Her personality is so uplifting, every time I ran into her during the week she always was smiling or singing a tune. I had the oppuntunity to see her perform a few times during the week and can't wait for Jazz Camp next year to see her perform again. so if you ever have the chance to see her in concert take it! It will be well worth it for Jazz fans and non jazz fans alike. Make sure to purchase the CD, you will be so happy with the music on it. Her personality really seeps through every song, like "Peel me a Grape" ( or "get me an iced mocha with a little bit of mint" as Kristin used to laugh about at camp.) I just heard her at the International Society of Bassists conference. She stole the stage and kept everones attention till the very end, which no one wanted it to end! So, of course I had to buy the CD, which is just great! Who could think, one can sing and play bass. HOW TALENTED! I can not stop glowing thinking about that wonderful concert. This CD is a great representation of her powers on bass and her heavnly voice.

This past week I attended a Jazzcamp at which Kristin Korb performed and became one of our teachers. This women is down-to-earth and her talent is amazing. Watching her scat and her fingers fly over her bass is the most memorable moment I will have of Frank Demiero Jazz Camp '98. I think everyone who loves Jazz needs a taste of Kristin. She opened a concert here a few moths ago and she really was the star performer. She played several of the songs on her CD and threw in a little humor and she really did a great job. I cannot imagine her CD is any different.
