4.0 out of 5 stars Jewelers & Craftfolks can agree, December 6, 2009

This review is from: Krohn SO-PC240 Sparex #2 2-1/2 lb Granular Dry Acid Pickling Compound Can (Misc.)
Sparex is the tried & true, old fashioned Pickling solution for silver and other metal use.
Solder your piece of work and then drop it into a solution of Sparex that is kept warm
in a pickling pot or even an old crock pot set on low temperature. Use your copper tongs to
place & remove the work, plunging the piece into a bath of plain water or water with a bit
of baking soda in it to neutralize the Sparex acid when done pickling. You should have a
nice clean bright work in progress when done using this acid. Be sure to mix it with water
according to the directions on the can. A workhorse standard at the jeweler's bench
