I used this map for our self directed safari in Kruger National Park August 2009. The map was very accurate and was very helpful. We drove down many of the non-main roads so this map helped us make sure we were going in the correct direction as signs are few and far between. The park is huge, and you often need to be in camps by dusk, so it was nice having an idea of where we actually were. There are detailed maps for each of the rest camps as well. You could get by without this map, but for $8, it definitely helps.

I was just in Kruger last week and wouldn't have been as successful in trip-planning or self-driving without this handy resource. The maps that you purchase at the entrance gate (R35 so about $5USD) were helpful because they include an animal guide, but the park maps were not as detailed, much smaller, and harder to tell real distance between each intersection as compared to this great Globetrotter map. Going to Kruger is much like going to Yellowstone--you can just drive around and spot animals yourself and you don't need to go on an organized (and expensive)safari. This map also contains detailed Rest Camp maps so you know what side of each camp to try and book accommodations (camping/bungalows). One tip: Watch your time of year carefully when you choose to go north or south in the camp--when it is dry the animals all head to the southern part of the park for more water and you won't see much in the north (at least that was our experience and what other people there told us as well). This is really a must-have for Kruger--they got the size and detail just right!

5 years ago I went to Kruger and was fortunate enough to have a full-time guide/ranger driving me through the park. The network of gravel roads is mind-boggling and one can easily get lost. Some of these gravel roads are nothing more than faint paths coursing through grass.

Fast forward 5 years and once again I am going to the Kruger; this time I am driving myself through the park. There is no way I could attempt this venture without the use of this handy map, in combination with a (car dashboard) compass.

This map is extremely detailed, showing such items as windmills, water holes, and minor outcrops (klein koppies).

I ordered this map from the UK and received it within 10 days.

Its unfortunate I only discovered this map about 3 weeks prior to leaving for my trip to Krueger. Its been hard to get my hands on it. The first one I bought, the seller who was located here in the US had a very long arrival time (could take up to 3 weeks) and no expidited shipping option. (It was the closest one on the day I was shopping.) I ordered it and contacted the seller asking it be sent out asap and explained my situation. They sent a notice saying it was mailed out right away. Two weeks later, I contacted the seller again because the map hadn't arrived and they told me it got lost and refunded my money. I ordered another one from someone else here in the US who did have an expidited shipping option and assumed it would probably be sent priority mail (I hoped anyway), their shipping policy stated it could arrive in 2 to 6 days. ok... so I'm hoping it won't be 6 days. I'm still waiting, I leave Saturday. I pray it comes tomorrow. Neither of the sellers gave tracking information. So I'm holding my breath. Overall I'm really disappointed in the two sellers who I've tried to purchase this map through. Maybe I would of gotten it sooner ordering it from England. If you want one, give yourself plenty of time to get it.
