In case you didn't see the picture, it doesn't come with a lid. Luckily I kept mine, but wanted to warn others not to toss it, and expect a new one. Other than that, it's the same quality as the original one.

We're a bit perplexed. We ordered this replacement once before and found the lid to fit perfectly. This time, we ordered two replacement carafes and our old lid doesn't fit either one. Not sure if Krups has made a running production change or what. Bottom line: don't break your carafes as often as we do!

Bought this replacement carafe on the recommendation in another review that it would work for our Melitta brand espresso maker model MEX1B. It does fit in the machine, but not with the (original Melitta) lid on.

Not a big deal for us, but something to be aware of if you're considering buying this for the Melitta espresso maker.

So after my husband learned that a glass carafe + ceramic tile floor = big mess, we ordered this replacement for our Krups Il Duomo. No issues with the size, it fit perfectly. I am thankful that we kept the lid, as I am a little surprised that the lid is an extra purchase (and around $6!)
We're storing this one in the box in the cabinet so we don't repeat history...

Just what I needed when I broke the carafe to my Krups espresso machine. Good price and great overall transaction.

I have broken two of these now but the replacements are perfect and as you would expect. You just need to know that Krups sells the lid separately, so keep the lid to your carafe or else you will need to buy that separately.

Broke one while at a client's house and was afraid I wasn't ordering the same thing since their expresso machine was old but was perfect.

We have now bought both the Krups brand and the cheaper models available.
Four Star rating because of price, much higher than the "off brands".
Quality is much better than the cheaper ones available. The glass is thicker and much more resistant to breakage.

Although the replacement carafe cost me twice as much as the espresso machine I bought at a garage sale 10 years ago, it beats having to buy a new machine. It was brand new in original box, and I look forward to many more years of morning espresso.

It fits our Krups 867 coffee/cappucino machine perfectly. Careful,though, it doesn't come with a lid, that is extra. We didn't need a lid, so we never looked into it. Good cost for an old machine to continue giving.
