5.0 out of 5 stars I could taste the difference
I only bought this as a filler item so I could get a promotional certificate, but it turned out to be a great purchase. I really enjoy good coffee but never realized my paper filters were preventing me from tasting the coffee as good as my maker could make it. It does make a difference, the coffee tastes better, and as more flavor. The oils make the difference I guess...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I had hoped....
I wasn't happy with this product, I used it in my Krups coffee pot and it seemed to let a lot of grounds through. Maybe I am just not fond of the gold filters and/or not used to using them. Either way I stopped using this filter, I'm not saying it not good, just that I had different expectations.

It does make a difference, the coffee tastes better, and as more flavor. The oils make the difference I guess! Guests have also commented on the flavor of my coffee. Good coffee starts with good beans and good, cold, clean water. I think it also needs this type of filter.

Hey, this filter fits my Krups coffee maker and all is well. Sure beats having to find those paper filters in the morning. My original filter finally suffered a split at the bottom of the cone; no possibility of repair.

5.0 out of 5 stars No more slipping coffee filters, October 25, 2002
This review is from: Krups 053 Gold Tone Filter (Kitchen)
No more running out of coffee filters and trying to fashon a makeshift one out of a paper towel! No more slippage of the flimsy paper filter and then drinking crunchy coffee. I've had this product for several months now and think it's a wonderful thing. It's easy to clean, just dump coffee grounds into the trash or compost, and rinse. It has a little handle like a bucket or pail handle which makes it even easier to remove and replace in the filter basket of your coffee maker.

There can be a little bit of very fine(dust fine) coffee grounds that do get through the filter which would end up in the bottom of your last cup of coffee, but this is nowhere near the residue of the larger coffee grounds in your last several cups as with many paper filters.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't get a gold filter for the Krups FMF5 10-cup programamable coffeemaker, January 3, 2007

I purchased the gold filter to go with the Krups FMF5 10-cup programamable coffeemaker - since on Amazon, it was something that people purchasing the coffeemaker were also buying. I hadn't had anything but a "paper filter" coffeemaker before. Anyhow, this filter does NOT FIT inside the filter holder on the Krups FMF5 10-cup programamable coffeemaker. Paper is the only option for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit all Krups 10 cup coffee makers, January 28, 2003

I was very unhappy to find that when I put the filter in the filter basket I was unable to close the filter door. It was just a bit too high. I have a aromacontrol 10 cup drip and I expected it to work, as stated, on all 10-12 cup drip coffee makers. Otherwise, I think I would have really liked it.

5.0 out of 5 stars permanent filter, March 12, 2006

I have a combination Krups unit in white for both the coffee and expresso that is so old that I don't think they make that color any more. Bought this filter the day I got the machine use it almost every day. I use Folgers gourmet dark in this unit and with that size of grinds have no problem with residue in the pot. It is as good as gold. The brightness of the gold faded long ago but performance remains the same. My white pot lid however is bowning with age. The filter is older than my grand children and still works well. Hand wash don't scrub.

Forget about the paper cones - and if you save the used grounds the tomatoes grow great - Not much more clean up effort for a considerably better tasting cup of coffee
