Although the coffee tastes wonderful, this coffeemaker is a shame for this company to sell! The carafe drips no matter how you pour it! What's worse, is that the company will not admit their fault... They wanted me to send the carafe in for a replacement -- NO thanks, I don't want another problem like this again!

Perfectly Practical,

I'm a college student who was looking for an easy, low-fuss way to enjoy coffee and hot water on cool mornings. This coffeemaker was the solution to most of these problems. I found that this four cup machine enabled me to make a small pot of coffee for myself or to make hot water for cereal and hot tea. The drip stop feature proved very useful when I was in a hurry. Also, it was very helpful not to have to mess with little paper filters. However, one feature that would enhance this product would be some kind of safety shut-off for the burner. The main problem I found with the machine was the pitcher. It dripped horribly when I tried to pour anything--and I wasn't the only one with this problem! I rejoiced when the pot accidentaly broke--for I could find a new, more improved one! Overall, this machine is a fairly good deal considering the limited supply of four cup machines in the market.

No dripping problems on the pot I just purchased. Makes excellent coffee with less input. Permanent filter is also very nice - no more having to buy that item.

Makes a great pot of coffee, but beware!! For just pennies, they could have installed an automatic turn off function...this model doesnt have it! If you leave after that last pot and forget to turn it off...it doenst turn itself off.

Great Buy!,

If you only drink a couple of mugs at a time, then this is the machine for you. The coned filter allows me to use less grinds per cup to get the same strength coffee I would get out of my old flat filtered 12-cup machine; and I don't have to pour out a 1/4 pot of burned coffee. This machine will pay for itself in a few months. The pot only drips if you pour way too fast. I personally have no problems with it whatsoever; I have no idea what other reviewers are complaining about.

Nice one-person coffee maker,

I've used this coffee maker for over 5 years--replaced the fairly sturdy pot once. This model is ideal for a single person or a couple who fill their coffee cups and run off to work.Pros: I like the compact size of this coffee maker on my kitchen counter. I drink from tall coffee mugs; a full pot gives me about 1 1/2 servings, more than enough to satisfy my coffee habit. Makes enough coffee for two people to enjoy one medium-sized serving each. Brews fairly quickly, too. The filter basket, metal filter, pot and lid are easy to take apart and wash or place on the top shelf of the dishwasher. The cons for me are that the pot drips and makes a mess while pouring the coffee--I have to hold the mug and pot over the sink while pouring. Too bad the heating plate doesn't have an automatic shut off. That would be a great safety factor. Also, the heating plate runs on the too-hot side. (Variable heat control would be nice.) Later servings of coffee have that undesirable overcooked taste. But since this is a small capacity pot, that won't be a factor for most people--coffee is likely to be consumed promptly, given the small amount produced. If this unit had a built in timer, controlled heat for the warmer, auto shut-off, and a non-messy pot when pouring, it would be perfect.

Nice little coffee maker, carafe needs work,

This coffee maker is very handy for brewing small amounts of coffee. The only drawback is the carafe. There is something wrong with the spout design. If you pour too quickly (and it doesn't have to be very quick at all), it dribbles and spills all over the place. Very annoying. Replacement carafes run about $15.
