4.0 out of 5 stars CoffeePot by Krups
Like this product. I think carafes should be a little tighter when connecting to top of coffepot. Gets a little water spurting out but otherwise we like the Krups coffee maker.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inferior, overpriced coffee maker that should be avoided, December 20, 2003

Although this coffee maker looks like an attractive product, there is one very significant problem that must be remedied in future models: the poor heating. This appliance makes a decent, if unexceptional cup of coffee, but unlike with other Krups models, the temperature cannot be adjusted. Indeed, the owner's manual only recommends using hotter water at the outset, but that's also insufficient. Furthermore, once the coffee is brewed, the already lukewarm coffee grows cold rather quickly in the dual carafes. Finally, the price for this product is wildly out of step with its quality. If the problems I outlined could be fixed or a grind and brew feature was added, then the price would be acceptable. As it is, however, I feel as though I was gouged. Overall, I was very, very disappointed with this product and ended up returning it. I would encouraged Krups to get back to the drawing board with this maker and solve that problem with the heating. The idea of a dual coffee maker is a great one, and this is a product I would try again, but as it stands now, I must encourage all buyers to steer clear of this model, unless you prefer tepid coffee.

2.0 out of 5 stars lukewarm coffee, January 3, 2004
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I wish I had read the review of the duothek before I purchased it. No matter what you do , rinse with hot water before brewing the coffee comes out to be very disappointing. If you add milk forget it , you might as well make iced coffee!

2.0 out of 5 stars unhappy coffee drinker, January 15, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
My husband and I received this coffeemaker as a gift for Christmas. My husband wanted the dual caraffe that it touts. However, our previous coffeemaker had a timer and a one minute "sneak a cup" feature. I believe this machine is slower than what we had prior. I also have a problem with the temperature of the coffee. To boast that you blend a better cup of coffee doesn't matter if I end up putting my cup of cold coffee in the microwave to heat it up! I'm very dissatisfied with this machine. I expected more from KRUPS and can't believe the price. It is not worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality and appearance for Krups DuoThek, January 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
We ordered this product but when we opened it at Christmas, it was in very poor condition. Covered with white powdery substance that was like a greasy coating. Nothing cleaned it completely. It's as though the unit was subjected to high heat along the way and the plastic wrap stuck to the unit. It was unsanitary in appearance. The construction quality was sub par, not up to the price of the unit. We returned it (By the way, Amazon made us pay the return shipping costs!) We are continuing to look for an alternative elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Makes good coffee, but missing key features, November 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
We replaced a single Krups stainless coffee maker with a new duotek stainless. We like the way it looks. Makes good coffee. Krups makes good, long lasting products. Only knock on this one is no digital display and no preset coffee timer (had both of these features on last one). Krups should rethink pricing strategy. This should be 179 with key features I mentioned. Consider returning it for Delonghi which has those features for 179.

This product is certainly not worth the money I paid for it. I am so sorry I never read the reviews. It does not keep the coffee warm, it has not brewing timer, nor does it have a shut-off timeer. For this price, it should have all of this but the worst of it is it does not keep the coffee warm.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk :-(, February 16, 2005
By
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
We purchased this thinking it would be a great coffee maker and it is junk. The hoppers that hold the coffee don't pivot out from the maker they sit on top of the carafes. When you are making your coffee in the morning you have the two carafes, two hoppers, two bags of coffee and the grinder out at the same time. When the coffee is brewed you remove the carafe and hopper together and try to pour a cup of coffee holding the dripping hopper in one hand over the cup and pour out of the carafe at the same time. The hoppers don't have a drip stop feature. The carafes are open and have separate lids. I've had inexpensive makers that had drip stop, integral carafe lid and pivoting hoppers. I have not had the cold coffee problems other report. I was very disappointed in this piece of crap from France.

1.0 out of 5 stars HELP, February 15, 2008
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
I used this coffee make and only one side worked. I did what the instructions asked and the right side will not make coffee. I have returned it to Zaccardi's but they said it was over 30 days and to return it to Krups, it was a gift so I couldn't really help it. Now I have to wait for them to return it to me. I just want a coffee maker that works. We have a regular coffee drinker and a de-caf drinker, I was so excited to find this gem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Krups XP 2070 Coffee / Espresso Maker, November 14, 2009
This review is from: Krups 324-42 DuoThek 10-Cup Dual Thermal Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
We have owned Krups XP 2070 Dual Coffee Espresso Maker for about a year now. We thought we wanted one unit that did both coffee and expresso, we wanted a programmable unit, we wanted a pump espresso maker. Despite its cons it is one of the few dual units on the market and probably the best we have seen. It seems a little pricy for the overall quality.

The XP 2070 seemed to fit the bill.

Pros:
1. the machine looks good but is larger than the DeLongi unit we had previously.
2. It makes good drip coffee relatively fast
3. The construction is sold
4. It makes fine expresso
5. Automatically turns itself off after two hours.
6. Has a decent pot warmer
7. Has a cup warmer on top that is supposed to work

Cons:
1. What is with the beeping appliances lately! This unit beeps twice when you manually turn it on. If you program it to make coffee it beeps twice to let you know it is on this job. If you want a unit that beeps to let you know it is on or off this is for you.It beeps three times to let you know it is turning itself off after two hours.
2. The buttons on the face of the unit seem cheap and wobbly
3. The display is gray LCD which is nice UNTIL you turn it on then it becomes blinding Blue! The blue display is so bright we have to put a towel over it in the morning to keep from being blinded. If you want a display to light up your kitchen on a dark morning, this unit is for you.
4. The espresso pump is loud and vibrates
5. There is a little drawer under the espresso tray that is filled with some type of blow by from the espresso process. Make sure to empty it after every use. It is a surprise the first time and may end up on your shoes.
6. The clock is difficult to program, I am an engineer with 5 years of college and find to be non-intuitive.
7. I would like to be able to turn the beeping off
8. The espresso operation seems too difficult to operate.
