A Sharp Idea,

This knife works extremely well and can fit a modest budget. This is the third one I have bought because the other two went to members of my family--perhaps I can hold on to this one.

I've Used Better,

This review is from: Krups 371-70 OptiSlice Electric Knife, White (Kitchen)
After having had a CORDLESS electric knife that finally bit the dust, this was very unwieldy. The worst part of this knife was that the blades were too short, as I've notice on most electric knives.

The knife is very difficult to hold on to and press the button, it doesn't fit the hand very well at all. The knives are very sharp, but not long enough to slice through a small roast. Should be ok for bread. This is the first electric knife I've ever used, so I can't compare it to any others, and not sure I'll ever try one again.

My Krups electric knife became ill today. I was cutting bread, and the motor started to smell hot. So, into the trash the handle went. The blades seem sharp after 15 years of cutting bread, ham, roast beef, porketta, or chicken. The Krups OptiSlice was the first electric knife I ever used. My husband bought if for me for Christmas of 1995 or 1996, as far as we can remember. I bought him an electric knife for Christmas that year too, but we decided the Krups knife would be easier to grip and operate. It became a noisy part of our life, noisy enough to warn somebody to turn the TV volume up as I was about to use the Krups knife! Now that it is gone, I miss it, that noisy little electric knife. I did not even remember it was called an "OptiSlice". I am getting a better knife as a replacement, now that I know I have a choice in electric knives at Amazon.com. We did not have online shopping when we bought our last electric knife. |
