Great Motor, but Poor Connection to Blade,
By
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
We bought this blender, but have been extremely disappointed. Worst Feature: The motor may be good, but the gear it spins is made of rubber, which fits in to a piece of plastic which turns the blade. If you use the pulse function, the rubber gear has a tendency to "give" a bit, eventually spinning inside the plastic sleeve. Basically, it is like a big rubber eraser that erases itself away. We had the rubber gear replaced twice, but then noticed that the plastic it fits into was also wearing (being erased) away. Second Worst Feature: The plastic gasket, mentioned by a few reviewers, is also hard to re-seal. It is hard to dismantle the unit for cleaning, and then get it to go back together properly. If the plastic isn't perfectly aligned... well, then you have something interesting to clean up! Third Worst Feature: After one of those gasket-leaking experiences, the little rubber feet stuck to the cabinet instead of to the blender. A couple of them wouldn't go back to where they were supposed to, so we ended up with a wobbly blender. The motor is really good, and the results are great - when it works. If you have one, just be careful of the little rubber gear!

Don't break the Rubber Gasket,
By
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
I like it!, but the problem I have found it with it is The Rubber Gasket on the button of the Glass Jar, is you don't align it perfectly then you will have all over the counter the liquid that you are trying to mix.And then, other problem I have found out with it is trying to buy a new Rubber Gasket, Krupps doesn't have a place on the web or anywhere else, where you can buy accessories, so please take care of it. The Blender (if you didn't break the Gasket) it's real easy to clean, to use, and all the buttons make it incredibly easy to get the results you really want. If you press WHIP button, you really get it whipped. If you press the Mix button is really mixes it, crushed ice is perfect. Overall is the best piece of equipment you can have in your kitchen, and best Blender I have ever used not design for industrial use, only and only If you don't break the Gasket!, then the whole blender is useless..

Yummy frozen drinks, low price,
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
I am a big fan of this not so little blender. The blender is somewhat of an optical illusion because this puppy holds 50 ounces of liquid. Unlike other customers, I have had no problems with the functionality of the blender. No drippage. No seepage. No problems putting the blender on and taking it off. No problem cleaning the unit. For frozen drinks, don't use the auto ice crusher. I found this feature only works OK - particularly if the ice has been in your freezer for a long time. However, if you pour all contents in and use the liquify button instead, you will end up with one well blended pitcher of frozen delight. I used to have a lower end blender that, while functional, did not really mash the ice in an acceptable form. After each blend, I'd needed to pick out the really large chunks of ice that remained at the top of my frozen concoction. That blender is history. Additionally, I've used other higher end blenders and yes, they make good frozen margaritas as well; but you can get just as impressive results with this blender at a lower price.

A poor choice if you need a reliable blender!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
This blender failed after less than sixty days of occasional light use. While I've always looked to the Krups brand for quality, the poor design and construction of this blender is a real embarassment. As mentioned elsewhere, the rubber gear is ripe for failure and needs to be redesigned. In addition, my experience with Krups customer service was less than sterling. If you like hassles, buy this blender. If you want to make smoothies or mix drinks, you might want to look elsewhere.

Twice Failed,
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
We wanted to love this blender, but after the second one's motor failed in only four months of daily use for fresh fruit smoothies, we are looking for another brand. The first one failed in less than one month.

Poor gasket, leaks easily. Never a Krups again. Lasted less than a year.

This is a great, perhaps not perfect, blender. We've had it for many years and it has done a fine job and held up under heavy use.
* It crushes ice great. The "auto ice crusher" gimmick doesn't work that great, so just use the regular speeds. * The sharp blades are good for cutting ice. Other blenders that use dull blades do not cut it, hahahaha, so to speak. * This blender is unique in having a jar base that twists on and off easily with only a quarter turn. That's an important feature that my wife just loves. * If you overheat the motor a thermal fuse inside will trip and turn the blender off before it catches fire and burns your house down. That's a good thing. Unfortunately the fuse is one use only, so if this happens you will have to disassemble the blender and replace the $2 fuse. It's not that easy, but possible. It should be only 45 minutes work for an appliance repair center. Krups doesn't bother to mention this fuse in the manual, or provide a breaker style resettable fuse, or make a replacement fuse available on their web site. All of that probably contributes to a lot of perfectly good blenders getting thrown in the trash. * Several reviewers here complain of the jar base failing to seal and thus leaking. That's a by product of the easy on/off feature. It doesn't screw the base as tightly to the jar as does the normal "screw on/off" system. Thus, you need to be a little more careful with it. The gasket should be undamaged, clean, and kink free. The jar and plastic base unit should also all be clean and smooth. You need to make sure that everything is seated properly and that you get the full quarter turn. We've never had a problem and my wife likes this feature so much that she won't consider any blender that doesn't have it. * The pouring spout is too thick and succumbs to that age old enemy of the pouring pitcher - surface tension - and it does drip. It's very annoying, but I live with it. * The lid has an integrated measuring cup and hatch for adding ingredients while avoiding splashes. That's fine, except that both lid and measuring cup screw down in a counter clockwise direction. There's no reason why they need to do that, so I find it intensely annoying that some idiot designer did that.

Ready for a recall? This blender has problems.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
I purchased this blender new in sealed box, got it home, and it didn't work. The motor did turn the piece upon which the blade rests when the container is placed on the base, but the blade itself wouldn't turn (or turned sporadicallyl) - it appeared to be stripped such that it wouldn't entirely engage. I returned the item (the retailer said, "yeah, you're right, it doesn't work."). After about two months of light use on the new one, the same thing happened. I had it repaired under warranty (paying the shipping myself, of course) and, one month later, the same problem occurred. Two blenders, same problem, you do the math.

best blender on the market,

This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
In my more than 35 years of marriage I've owned numerous blenders. None lived up to their promise like this one! It really does what it says it does. You'll NEVER have to stick a spoon down there to move things around like other blenders. I love the large squatty round jar in fact, that may be part of the secret why it works so well That, and a powerful motor are a great combination.

Amazing They Keep Selling These,
By
This review is from: Krups 572-70 Power Xtreme Blender, White (Kitchen)
I received this blender as a gift. It was purchased by someone who believed that Krups products are high quality and thought I would like the features. However, this blender is the worst I've ever used. I'm sorry that it is taking up space on my countertop and hope to replace it soon. I suppose it would be alright for someone who only wants to blend powder into a liquid, or liquids only. But, if you want to make a smoothy, anything with fruit, nuts, vegetables and/or ice, this blender (literally) cannot cut it without overheating and taking a very, very long time to accomplish the task poorly.
