5.0 out of 5 stars Krups charcoal filters
Our first filter we tried really improved the taste. The pot itself stays cleaner longer without all the yucky dark discoloration. Living in an area that has a lot of minerals in the water we need something to filter out all the stuff in the water.

2.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money
Try simply not using the filters. My coffee tastes just as good without it. Maybe my water is already clean, but this seems like a ploy to make Krups customers keep paying. The price is outrageous! A little package of activated charcoal should NOT cost $5 a piece.

4.0 out of 5 stars Krups Charcoal Filers, August 22, 2002
By A Customer

I've used the Krups coffee maker with these filters in 2 different states including 5 addresses. It works great. Don't know that I would use this particular coffeemaker without the filter. I'm having difficulty obtaining replacement filters.

I believe that the reason why some people are having difficulty finding these filters is because the coffe makers, Crystal arome (model #398) and Crystal arome time (model #458) have been discontinued, these filters fit those models. But as someone else has mentioned you can buy the filters on-line. Simple solution.

You can go to krups.com to find out more about the discontinued coffee makers.

2.0 out of 5 stars Annoying filters!, July 1, 2000

These filters are required for the Krups crystal arome coffee makers. I have to change mine (a light indicates so) every other month or so. They are very expensive, and annoying! But thanks to amazon.com now i can get them on line.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product that you can't buy!, March 24, 2002
By A Customer

I received my Krups Model 476 coffeemaker as a gift. Now it is time to change the Duo-Filter.....and I can't find one anywhere. Mine has split, so I definitely do not want to continue using it. I am disappointed in this product. I do believe the filter made the coffee taste better, but; what good is it if you can't use the maker properly! I have spent too much time looking for this little "accessory". I think I'm more inclined to make the coffee without it, and when the coffee maker sees its last days, I will be searching for a new brand of coffee maker to purchase. Seems little to ask for a company to readily provide accessories for the products they make. If its this difficult, Krups better rethink their marketing practices, or they will find themselves at the bottom of the list.

I have also bought this product and can't find the filters anywhere. I purchased this item about 6 mos. ago and have been very dissatisfied since I realized 3 mos. into it that I was not going to be able to find this filter. I also make my tea with this coffeemaker but it just doesn't taste the same without a new filter. I would definitely not buy this brand again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where are you people looking for filters?, May 17, 2003

I am not sure where these people are looking for filters. Generally, I find they are available through higher end retailers like Macy's and Bed Bath n Beyond. Here is a little secret. You can order direct from the company!!!! All you have to do is read your owner's manual and the phone number is in there. Magic! Problem solved. I believe the filter is an excellent idea and Krups is a great product. I am sold!

5.0 out of 5 stars A filter is a filter..., June 11, 2011

These are fine and the best price I could find anywhere. I don't change these out as often as I probably should, but it is nice to have an extra on hand when I do.
