I purchased 4 Duo Filter F472 for my FMF5. These filters should last through all of 2009 if replaced every 3 months as stated on the box. I noticed my coffee tasting a little bitter over the past few weeks. We throw the carafe in the dishwasher along with all of the parts. I then decided to replace the filter a month early and I noted two shocking things. 1: the filter and the grey filter holder had mold all over it. We could not even pull the filter out without it sticking. 2: The base were the filter holder sits had a puddle of water in the unit. This unit has not been used in over two weeks. I have contacted Krups and they have stated that I need to wait for a supervisor to call me back (24-48hrs) and I should be using a calcium "calcify"cleaner in the machine "often". No exact amount of times but "often" was given.

Be aware that you might have to wipe the water out of the base under the grey filter holder.

Krups suggests :

Descaling
Descaling is necessary to keep your coffee machine running efficiently. The frequency of
descaling depends on the hardness of your water and how often you use the coffee machine.
If you notice the brew cycle has slowed it is generally time to descale the machine.

* Before descaling, remove the filter holder (k).
* You may use either the Krups descaling solution diluted in 8 ounces of water or 8 ounces of
white vinegar.
* Pour the solution or vinegar into water reservoir (b) and start the coffee machine (without
coffee).
* Allow half the liquid to run into the carafe, then switch off and let stand for 1 hour.
* Restart the coffee machine to complete the cycle.
* Rinse the coffee machine by running it through 2 full cylces with water only.
* On the timer models if the display continues to read "CALC" repeat the process again.

Krups 472-00 DuoFilters, Two Pack: Although I have repeatedly used Krups water filters with my Krups coffee maker, this was the first time I ordered the product from this company through Amazon. The price was most economical as was the S&H charge. My order was promptly handled and in my hands in record time. I am most happy with this purchase.

Makes the best coffee we have ever had. We have been using this filter for about 5 years.

Krups makes a great coffeemaker. Part of the reason the coffee tastes so great is because of these filters, which help eliminate the chlorine and other minerals. We make a full pot daily, and I generally replace the filters about every 90 days. Additionally, Handy House is a great merchant. Shipping was super fast.

I own a Krups 1010 pod coffee maker that uses this filter. For some reason local retailers have stopped carrying these filters and other Krups products. This mail-order purchase was a good buy, much cheaper than retail, but needed to be packaged better. The three boxes came crushed in shipment, but luckily, it did not affect the charcol filled filters. I would order again when needed.

The filters are exactly as ordered and arrived quickly, but Krups has reduced the size of the filters so that now the filter only fills the bottom half of the filter holder, they seem to work just fine though.

Pot brews excellent coffee. Unfortunately, the metal carafe requires pre-heating to keep brewed coffee hot for longer periods of time. Makes it inconvienient to have coffee ready when you wake up. Would be great if coffee could be brewed in glass carafe and then transfered to pre-heated metal carafe, but glass and metal are not interchangable in this model.

What can I say? With most domestic water supplies, these water filters probably don't affect the taste of my coffee very much. But my Krups Model 467 coffee maker has been working flawlessly since I got it at least 4 years ago.

Hard to review filters, I suppose. My coffee tastes good and my machine works, so they must do the job. These do last a long time, I'll give them that. :)
