Got a craving for something deep fried? Instead of heading for the nearest fast-food joint, power up this professional-style deep fryer to make delicious fried foods right in your own home. The 4-liter (16-cup) rectangular frying basket fits enough French fries, chicken, or mushrooms to satisfy a family of four and the extended handle keeps hands cool as you raise or lower the basket into the fryer. A high-precision variable thermostat adjusts to the proper temperature for the food you are cooking, producing a light crust on foods such as tempura on lower temperatures and a thicker, crispier fried coating on foods such as egg rolls at higher temperatures. A fully immersed heating element helps the unit maintain its set heat throughout cooking. Any food particles that drop through the frying basket during cooking land below the heating element to avoid fire hazards and that burnt flavor often found with fried foods. Other safety measures include cool-touch handles on either side of the fryer and an automatic thermal cut-out to prevent overheating. If the mess of deep-frying within your home kitchen concerns you, rest assured that the lid fastens tightly during frying and a filter right in the top keeps greasy steam and odors from escaping. A window in the lid still provides you with a view of your frying food, however, so you can monitor its progress. Great product, does everything you want it to, but terrible design which keeps it from getting 5 stars. The control element (which is a black piece of plastic that control the power) melts over time when you use the fryers high temp setting. Mine has melted and falling apart and there is nowhere to get replacement parts. Stay away from this product unless you like taking chances. The fryer is useless after this happens.
