Everything you put in it comes out exactly the way you want...one of my sons likes his bread or muffins lightly toasted while another wants his nice and crispy....and they both can cook their at the same time with each child's food coming out cooked to perfection for them....I love the way it toasts the cut side of the bagel just right and only warms the outside of the bagel instead of making it taste like burnt shoe leather....what a toaster....

I'm very happy with this toaster. It toasts evenly, entirely, and uneventfully. Which is surprisingly rare among today's toasters! It's a little big, but you get used to it. It's aesthetically questionable, but you get used to that too.

A fabulous toaster, that actually toasts--what an idea! I should have bought 5--have had various visitors who were wow-ing this toaster while visiting. It toasts. It defrosts bagels. It allows easy clean up of the crumbs (via a crumb tray). It warms breads at top...holy cow! It washes windows, well--okay, not quite. But it is a fabulous toaster and when I ordered it from Amazon--it appeared at my home within 18 hours. Loved that.

Very, very slow in toasting. End product is unevenly done...very dark on one edge to light on the other. Because of the slowness in toasting, if the bread is thick, it tends to dry out before it is done. Although this is supposed to be a powerful toaster, the heating elements seem very skimpy. I would have returned it for a refund if I hadn't thrown away the box before I tested the appliance.

I had been wanting to buy a 4-slice toaster for some time, and felt comfortable about ordering this toaster, as most reviews I read about it were positive. However, my first attempt yielded a machine with a left-side lever that did not work. My second attempt yielded one which burned the top of the bread while leaving the bottom untoasted. For some reason I persevered, and the third attempt brought me one that is satisfactory, although the browning is still somewhat uneven. The toast has a nice crispy exterior, and the features on the toaster are very good. I have given it a 3 star rating rather than a 4 star rating, because I think that Krups needs to pay more attention to its quality control and insure that every item shipped conforms to the same high level.

This is one of the best toasters I have owned. In the past year I have given away 2 toasters because I got tired of retoasting the bread all the time. I never knew how they were going to turn out. This toaster toasts evenly everytime. Whatever number you use, it does just that. Its great for bagels. It has 3 settings to pop up the toast if it is too short to come out. On the top there is a place to warm the bread. I'm very pleased with this toaster.

This toaster has all the features to make it a great toaster, but its problem is it's just poorly built. I just had to return two of them within a month. On the first one, the right lever got stuck after using the "pop up" feature the first time. This was after one day of usage. On the second one, the left lever broke and would not hold the toasts down after 3 weeks.

I bought this toaster from Amazon. It never worked and when I called Krups they were not very helpful. Amazon made the return easy. My Cuisinart toaster works well.
