This review is from: Krups Coffee Maker & Grinder
I've been using this product for a few weeks now and in general, I am happy with it. It does make good coffee. Also, the conical burr grinder is quiet compared to other coffee grinders I have used and it produces a consistent grind. Futhermore, this coffee maker uses the V-type filters instead of the flat-bottom filters that Cuisinart and Capresso use which gives it an inherent advantage over those 2 products. There are 2 main shortcomings as far as I am concerned. First, I make only a few cups of coffee at at time and the coffee is not hot enough (I use powdered whitener instead of half and half so I don't cool it off). Secondly, when using the grinder, it does not produce enough grinds to make strong coffee. I find that setting cups to 10 and strength to 'strong' will make good coffee for 6 to 8 cups at most. I usually make 2 cups of coffee at at time so I set it to 4 cups and 'strong'. That seems to work OK. One other issue I have is it leaves grinds in the passage from the grinder to coffee basket. Fortunately, the cover to this passage is easily accessible and removable so it is not much work to interrupt the brewing process to clean the grinds into the coffee basket before continuing with brewing. To me, this is much less annoying than cleaning a separate coffee grinder after use. All in all, a good but not great product.

Fantastic Coffee, Unreliable,

This coffee maker made the finest cup of coffee I have ever produced myself. Unfortunately, the heating element went out once and had to be repaired. About 3 months later the new element freaked out and heated the carafe hot enough to give me a second degree burn on my arm in about 2 nanoseconds. At that point I gave up. I still dream about the delicious coffee this beast produces.

Purchased a Krups KM 7000 Pro Grinder Brewer. It lasted 6 months then the pump went. Took it in for warranty repair. Took over a month to do the repair so in the interim had purchased another coffee maker. Did not use the Krups KM 7000 Pro Grinder Brewer until recently. Made one pot of coffee then it leaked water all over the counter for each pot thereafter. Tried to get satisfaction through the service facility and Krups but they refused since the unit was now out of warranty. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM KRUPS AND WARRANTY SERVICE. This is a very expensive unit. The most I had ever paid for what I had hoped would be the best coffee pot I had ever bought. It has turned out to be the worst and feel that I need to try and warn others.
